So a argument has just arisen at the gaming tables. Seems two of my players say that a prerequiste doesn't have to show on a characters dial for it to work. Example is that Bishop keeps using Auto-Regen when it's not showing Regeneration.
Help?

Good ol HCRealms. Where dials are "garbage" if it's not their favorite character and everything is overcosted.
If using a feat requires giving the character an action, then the prerequisites must be present on the character’s combat dial at the time the player gives the character the action.
And while the wording of the 2011 rules has changed (pretty significantly) in some places, this is not one of them: the character must still meet the prereqs to use the feat.
Just out of curiosity, how do these people who think you can use Auto-Regen whether the power is showing presently on the dial or not imagine you actually *KO* a character with said feat then?

Print off the rules, hi-light the section that says that the power must be showing and then facepalm
What is it with this feat?
New wording
AUTOMATIC REGENERATION
Cost: 12
Prerequisite: Regeneration
Choose a character. Once, at the beginning of your turn, this character uses Regeneration as a free action IF THE FRICKING POWER REGENERATION IS SHOWING ON THE DIAL RIGHT NOW - NOT LATER, NOW! Can you see it in the slot? You know, black next to the defence symbol, whether that be the regular symbol or the indomitable one with the stripe through it. Can you? Is it there? If the answer is yes, the second sentence about using Regeneration as a free action is applied. If not, STOP CHEATING, YA SMELLY BASTICH!
Oh, and for future reference, in order to use a feat, other than Brilliant Tactician which has its exception well spelled out on the card, the power must be showing or available through the use of a special power. End of story. Also, bathe more.

can I petition to have all feats printed this way!?

They don't. Which is why people keep deliberately misunderstanding it. They're just trying to screw their opponents. It's the only logical answer I can come up with.
I think the player must have actually been using Auto-Auto-Regen - a totally different feat that makes it so you can use Regen for free every turn - that is drawn on a napkin in crayon.
Seriously, I'm a pretty chill dude when I'm playing games, but if an opponent tried to pull that one on me I think I'd lose my cool, lol. I don't think I'd make a good judge.
Oh man, we got a Negative Man and a Jimmy Olsen? Now I need to think of a new signature after all these years!
In fairness, these players may be getting the feat's 2005-era wording -- "this character uses Regeneration as a free action" -- confused with the current SP language that says "SuchAndSuch can use StandardPACPower and StandardPACPower."
Still...
God is smarter than we are....
