Both are good, but Bruce's version is stellar.

There are times when I find it incredibly difficult to pick one version over another and for me, this is one of those times.

On such occasions, I think I have a leaning toward the original, but in this case, as VG9 says...JB really does a stellar job.

I didn't think Bruce recorded it first, but according to Wikipedia, you are correct-"The song originally appeared on Bruce's Songs for a Tailor album in 1969. It then appeared the next year on Mountain's Climbing! album"

In either case, I prefer Mountain, although I enjoy both.

Holy Crow, I didn't know it, either. Which is what I get for not bothering to get "Songs for a Tailor" back when it was released.
