If you could decide on 1 change to happen with the DC reboot, what would it be?
Like the title says, if you could choose one thing to change drastically with the DC Universe reboot, what would you change?
Me, I would undo Cry for Justice. Roy would keep his arm and his daughter. The Titans would never break up, and Robin, Speedy (Lian), and Impulse would start a new Young Justice.
Hrrrm....THe champion for Brightest day would not be Swamp Thing But rather another character that can't be said to be used because Johns is trying to ride the coattails of another Writer.
OH and again : Infinite Earths...No 52 garbage. Just Infinite Possibilities.
If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.-Carl Sagan
I don't know about one thing I'd change, but I do know that I'd keep the current Batgirl series as close to what it currently is as is possible given what all the other changes in the DCU turn out to be.
Jason Todd back to being the lethal force using anti-hero he was becoming instead of the "insane" Red Hood seen in Batman & Robin. Everything that happened to him during 52, and even in the Battle for the Cowl, and then they messed everything up after that. I want that changed.

If I were trying to acomplish what DC is trying to, I'd cancel all the titles that are being cancelled, consolidate and streamline the Core DCU, preserving the continuity of all the core titles there, and I'd create an "Earth 3" let's call it, where everything would start from #1, would include all the acquired characters from Wildstorm & Milestone along with the rebooted titles and new series launches. I'd also leave room in that new DCU for the top tier characters, but other than team books, I wouldn't relaunch them in that world, I'd just have Superman show up in Justice League etc and not rewrite his backstory.
This would Shrink the titles it would take to keep up with the classic universe, and give the writers a whole new world to play around in. Since the DCU is a multiverse, it wouldn't be inconvienient, and they wouldn't have to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
It's a pretty big core thing. But that's what I'd do. (I know you meant one little thing, but honestly, to me its the big picture that matters, I'm more of a fan of the DCU as a whole than I am any small part of it, which is why this reboot is so disturbing to me)
I would exclude Detective and Action from the rebooted line-up so that they would continue on with their #ing.
I'll (likely) never have a real Action Comics #1. I'm OK with that. But I've always thought it'd be pretty cool to hold Action #1000.
And until these idiots took control of things that was possible.
{yes, I know, in 4 years & 1month they'll re-number their new "Action" so they can celebrate it as issue 1k. But it won't be the same.}
Yes, I'd wrap up the current arcs in each in the allotted time span.
And then I'd change their formats slightly.
Action would still be a "Superman" title.
Detective would still be a "Batman" title.
But each would feature self contained, unrelated, stories - be they a single issue, or several issues long. Any style. Afterall, they've published plenty of Superman & Batman 1Shots and Mini-series over the years, and they'll keep on doing so.... So why not just do so under these two banners?
Before this spirals into a thread completely about how much Hal Jordan sucks and the Skittle Corps are the dumbest idea evar, let's just image that the GL books are no longer in print, though the events in the books are still happening somewhere out there (that way the fans that want something to be happening are happy, and the non-fans that don't want to see any of it are also happy).
