If I'm using in contact with Cerebro and I pick, say Cyclops, to PB somebody, but Cyclops is adjacent to an opposing character, would I be able to make a ranged attack from Cyk's square?
On the other end, if X is based by an opposing character, can he still draw LOF from and make a ranged attack from another character?

I don't know.
I didn't know if he was a rube, a souse, a wiseacre, a hophead, or a bright-boy, but I knew for sure that I didn't like him.

Yes

To expand Moom's answers
If Prof X is drawing LOF from Cyke's square, he is just drawing LOF. Nothing in making a ranged attack is stopped by being adjacent to the LOF source
The Prof still has to obey the other restriction of ranged attacks, no enemy adjacent (unless he had sharpshooter)
Note that, although Cyke has sharpshooter, Prof X cannot use that to his advantage to make a ranged attack through Cyke as the Prof can only use the character as a source for his LOF
I read over that thread a few times, but I didn't see this specific one addressed. Maybe the wording is just throwing me off.
You thanked him, but it sounds like you're still confused or don't accept the answer.
Breaking it down....Professor X is the one making the attack. He is only in one spot...where he actually is sitting in his starting area. He is NOT considered to be Cyclops. He is NOT considered to be in Cyclops' square.
Anything at all requiring adjacency (or line of fire back to Chuck) goes from where Chuck is.
If you want to Enhance the damage, the Enhancer needs to be next to the actual Chuck.
If you want to PC the attack roll, you need to draw LoF to the actual Chuck and be within 10 squares of the actual Chuck.
If you want to inyuk chuk, then you have to wait until they make Apache Chief.
If you want to stop him from making a ranged attack, you have to be next to the actual Chuck.

Which character "counts" when figuring out game effects that are relevant based on adjacency? Things like Enhancement or even whether or not the character can make a ranged attack.
Professor X is the character making the ranged combat attack. The only thing that is different through In Contact With Cerebro is that when one draws a line of fire, instead of drawing that line of fire between Professor X and the target, it can be drawn between Professor X's teammate and the target. Everything else applies normally.
So Professor X would need to be adjacent to a character using Enhancement in order to get the bonus. Professor X would need to be adjacent to a SHIELD team member in order to get the boost to range or damage. Professor X adjacent to an opposing character would prevent him from making a ranged combat attack, not one adjacent to the friendly character. A character using Probability Control would need to draw line of fire to Professor X, not the friendly character.
This is the Q&A you would want to focus on. The underlined sentence seems to answer your question.
If you want to inyuk chuk, then you have to wait until they make Apache Chief.
If you want to stop him from making a ranged attack, you have to be next to the actual Chuck.
And if you want to know how much wood a wood chuck could chuck, beyond needing the judge's permission to use a custom figure, Chuck does not have super strength or telekinesis so he cannot chuck any wood
Keep in mind that prof x has to use one of his powers to perform the attack (ie. psychic blast)so he cannot bust stealth even if the friendly he's shooting through is based to the opposing stealther. This one seems to come up frequently in our play group.
If you want to inyuk chuk, then you have to wait until they make Apache Chief.
This made me actually LOL.

This did, too!
"Hey you dang wood chucks! Quit chuckin' my wood!"

Hmm...I just had an interesting visual of Chuck picking up Mjolnir and tossing a Dumpster through Cyclops's eyes.
By the way...I want to point out that the above was simply a funny observation, but it wouldn't work.
Even if Chuck does manage to acquire Super Strength he could not throw objects through the other guy.
1) Most likely, as would be the case with Mjolnir, Super Strength is not HIS power, so he couldn't use it through another guy.
2) Even if he did manage to POSSESS Super Strength, it still wouldn't work. When you throw an object, you are not using Super Strength.
HA HA HA HA HA... breathe, breathe, HA HA HA HA
The fact that you know this will come up and that you had best correct it before someone thinks that an offhand joke is rules gospel is freaking funny!
