I am fuzzy on the S.H.I.E.L.D. team ability's range increase mechanic under the new rule book, so I welcome input!
From the PG:
Quote
S.H.I.E.L.D.
When a friendly character makes a ranged combat attack, you can give any number of friendly characters adjacent to the attacker and using the S.H.I.E.L.D. team ability either a free action or a power action (but
not both) before making the attack roll: For each character given a free action, modify the attacker’s range by +1; for each character given a power action, modify the attacker’s damage value by +1.
From the 2011 Rulebook:
Quote
A character may not activate the same game effect twice in one turn with free actions, unless the game effect indicates otherwise.
Situation:
Given an arrangement of characters A, B and C with C having S.H.I.E.L.D. team ability:
A.B
.C.
A makes a ranged attack. C is given a free action due to S.H.I.E.L.D. and increases A's range by 1.
B makes a ranged attack the same turn. Can C be given a free action again to increase B's range by 1?
Although I believe this used to be valid, I think it is no longer allowed in the new rule set.

yeah, I think you're right...unless it is the attacking character that is given the free action via the TA and not the actual SHIELD person. Although that wouldn't make sense.
