Welcome one and all to the Guitar Wars. These battles feature songs nominated by you, the folks from the Realms. This isn’t about who the better guitarist is, or what band is better. This is about the instrument and the song. Great solos are something that make us sit up and take notice, but the guitar is more than that. There are great riffs like the one in Beat It, which was not done by Eddie Van Halen. You know, that awesome riff that permeates the song is also the part that EVH had nothing to do with.
There are ways that the guitarist wraps his playing around the melody and makes a perfect fit that’s so subtle and imperceptible that most times it gets missed. And of course, there are the solos, some with blinding speed and some played so eloquently and with so much feel that you can get lost in one sustained note after another.
You are hear! Hendrix, Clapton, Lifeson, Atkins, Page, Abasi, Santana, Morello and a host of others will be popping up. Come on in and check out the virtuosity of these and others. Find new songs you can add to your shuffle or just reminisce on songs you may not have heard in a while. Enjoy.
Listen to each song and pay attention to the guitar part and vote for the song whose guitar part you liked better. Maybe you’re a fan of the slide, or finger-picking or electric solo, but give each song a chance and then vote for the performance that you liked better. We’ll go round by round and match by match until we have a winner. That song will be crowned best overall guitar song to listen to on the Realms. All the songs will have the main guitarist or guitarists listed along with the band’s name and the name of the song. Critique it if you want, and judge it as you will, but keep in mind, this isn’t a battle of what band or artist is better. I for one may not be a fan of a certain band or solo artist, but that will not keep me from voting for a song of theirs if that song has one of the most gorgeous guitar solos ever heard.
Matchups will close on the fifth day after they are posted.

I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
the tool song is my pick and it is an amazing song with great guitar work. it is possibly one of my favorite song's and it is very well put together. the song has a good synergy between the instruments. with that said BOLD AS LOVE – Jimi Hendrix wins. as much as i really dont wanna vote for it i guess jimi takes it.
"Screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place."
I like Tool, I like this song, I think Adam Jones (along with Maynard and the rest of the gang) is crazy talented and a master of creating complex music, but he pulled the short straw here. Jimi's playing on Bold As Love is insane, he does so much in that 4 minute period. Every time you think you know where he is going he changes it up on you and does something new and even more amazing while still maintaining the flow of the song. This is my favourite Hendrix tune, Just edging out May This Be Love, and it gets my vote here.
I'm halfway through watching the "Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Child" (not Chile) 2 hour biography, and took a break to vote. If you like Hendrix, its well worth a watch and a listen; on Bio HD channel. I like Tool doing Forty Six and 2, very cool song, but Axis:Bold As Love is Jimi at his best.
Jimi Hendrix is not an artist I set out to listen to, but I still recognize that it's going to be incredibly tough to beat Bold as Love in this competition. Tool just doesn't bring the goods. Vote: Bold as Love.
Jimi Hendrix. I've never been one for Tool. They're okay, but I have to take them in small doses. I'll stop there because I don't want to be taken too far out of context.
