So, is it just me, or has anyone else had the desire to play clix on their hour lunch break (for those that have them) near where they work, but just don't know anyone nearby that plays?
So I'm thinking, for people like myself, maybe this thread, over even an external blog site, could serve as a way for people to get together during their lunch breaks for some quick , small build, games.
I know I would love to play more often, and what better way to get in some quick games than with some other players close by. Or maybe even introducing new people to the game.
The idea would be for anyone interested in playing to post a safe, public place suitable for gaming , like a public park with picnic benches, or a food court , etc, that is somewhat heavily trafficked, whether near a school, business center, etc.
But basically, the idea would be to promote these places, whether in this thread or at an external forum (I'm toying with the idea here, but I'm thinking "lunchclix.net"), and people just post the name of the park, so whether other people are referred the posting or random visitors find it, the safe public place will have a regular schedule open to the public.
For example:
ABC County Park, pavillion /benches near the park office
12-2 heroclix every Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday. weather permitting.
300 point builds for quick lunchtime games
This week: 300 point monster theme
So picture a site with a forum for each state, and within each states sub forum there would be a person that would be responsible for promoting whatever local public place they found. Keeping up the schedule online. That's it really. Not necessarily posting anything at the actualy place.
So there would be threads like, say for the Pemmsylvania form:
ABC County Park
XYZ Corporate center
123 food court
etc etc
And ideally games should only take place if there are more than 2 people for obvious safety concerns especially if the other person there is a complete stranger...
I am not really sure if this is a good idea since it's clix is a small gaming niche and people live all over even locally.
Maybe the better idea is just to create a site for any gamers looking to play clix, card games, chess, etc.
