Ok, it has been determined that it is best (or required depending on the venue) to bring a characters stat card to the game. Are photocopies allowed? If you lost a stat card and had access to another to photocopy can it be used? It seems silly to have to get another figure if just the stat card is lost and you can get a photocopy. Now if you have the card and not the figure, that is another story.

WizKids tournament rules support print and play, where any piece of "cardboard" you need for a game can just be printed out and used.

Character Cards fall under the umbrella of "Print And Play" and would be ok to have copied. (If possible, I'd recommend that you have at least one version with color and not just B&W.)
