1) If you haven't played in the previous games or read the series, reading the character section is strongly suggested. Reading the summary of previous games is optional and can be done at your leisure.
2) Standard mafia rules apply about not pming, editing, etc.
3) If you don’t understand what’s happening, PLEASE do not just go “Oh em gee I’m so lost.” Pm me and tell me what part of the story is confusing you. I’ll do my best to explain in a neutral manner. It is my goal to allow all players, even ones that haven’t read these stories, to compete on equal footing.
Characters from previous games:
The Trust – An organization made up of the heads of thirteen families, controlling all major criminal activity in the United States. Only twelve remain and some members conspire to kill each other.
The Minutemen – Seven deadly assassins who worked as the Trust’s muscle as well as judge, jury and executioner when it came to disputes between members of the Trust. After the Minutemen and the Trust had a falling out, the Minutemen kidnapped and executed one head of the Trust. Supposedly, they were all killed but that seems to have been a premature announcement.
Agent Graves - Traditionally played by Jackofhearts2005, Agent Graves was the leader of the Minutemen. He had his men hidden, hypnotized into leading false lives. With the word Croatoa, Graves has been awakening his soldiers for what appears to be war with the Trust. In the meantime, he’s been offering certain individuals attaché cases containing a picture of the person that ruined their life, a gun and one hundred untraceable bullets. While often referred to as his game, Graves insists each case is a test.
Jack Daw aka the Monster - A former minuteman, now reduced to a homeless, jobless junkie. Agent Graves gave him a case of 100 bullets with his own picture inside, telling Jack that his ruined life was his own fault.
Mr. Shepherd – Former liaison between the Trust and the Minutemen. He still works for the Trust but maintains his friendship with Agent Graves, making his objectives unclear.
Dizzy Cordova aka the Girl – A young woman who was the recipient of one of Graves’ cases. She is now being groomed to be a new Minuteman by Mr. Shepherd.
A brief review of the past five games:
First Shot, Last Call/Split Second Chance
His Minutemen in hiding and his power significantly reduced, Agent Graves took several individuals including Dizzy Cordova and Cole Burns and gave them each an attache case. Inside, was a picture of someone who had ruined their lives, proof and payback, a gun with one hundred untraceable bullets.
Dizzy killed one of the men responsible for the deaths of her husband and son but was arrested for a crime she didn't commit before she could find the other. Cole's mark (the man who burned down the nursing home Cole's grandmother was living in) escaped but Cole, a former Minuteman, regained his memories and joined Graves as his right hand man. Dizzy's name was cleared by Mr. Shepherd, who took her under his wing.
The Charm
Graves next went about attempting to recruit Lono, the only Minuteman that had not been hidden after the Minutemen were disbanded. Lono refused and so Graves decided to teach him a lesson. He told a group of hoods that Lono was carrying a million dollars and they ran the killer over with a truck.
Graves then gave an attache case to Loop Hughes, son of Curtis Hughes, one of his most trusted agents. Inside was a picture of Loop's father, a man who had abandoned his mother. Loop confronted his father and the two reconciled. In the end, Curtis sacrificed his life to steal a large sum of money for his son. Loop avenged his father's death but Graves arranged for him to be arrested for murder.
Meanwhile, Lono tracked down his attacker (who happened to be Loop's cousin), and raped his girlfriend before killing him.
While this was going on, Jack Daw opened the case that Agent Graves had given him and found a picture of himself. Unwilling to admit that he had ruined his own life, Jack used his untraceable bullets to kill several people, mostly because he could.
A Foregone Tomorrow
Concerned with Graves' growing influence, Shepherd and Dizzy traveled to El Paso to find Wylie Times, another former Minuteman. Not knowing Graves' code word, they were unable to wake the Minuteman out of his false life.
Meanwhile, Graves and Burns planned to strike at the Trust in Atlantic City. Their plans were delayed but not for long. They tracked down and killed Daniel Peres, one of the heads of the Trust.
The Counterfifth Detective
Agent Graves next gave a case to the detective and former Minuteman Milo Garret, hoping that in solving his mystery, Milo would regain his memories. His plan succeeded only Milo decided that he didn't want to return to his life as a Minuteman and instead committed suicide by picking a fight with Lono.
At around the same time, Dizzy tracked down the other person who had killed her family and put a bullet in his head.
This brings us to the sixth part of the story, a group of tales called
Six Feet Under the Gun

Hmm...I had been thinking how the last five games had been woefully short of the awesomeness that is the Trust and how this might be different but now that I have my role and see the current (see Jack's sig) number of players, that's probably not happening. So, Jackie, I'm proposing you redo the prior games except from the viewpoint of the Medicis and Co. Think of the twists of re-running with the focals being the awesomeness of Benito or the yummy manuplations of Meghan.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Game 4, the Trust and related characters made up about a third of the game and dramatically effected its outcome.
Game 5 had Megan and went ahead and mixed in two Trust related stories from trade 6, with 4 Trust "aligned" players or 6 Trust "aligned" characters in that game plus Shepherd.
Prediction:
If I play this series through to the end of the books, game 6 and 7 will have next to no Trust activity. Game 8 will have a little as Prey For Reign and Wylie Runs the Voodoo Down both involve the Trust. Game 9 will ramp Trust levels up with Staring at the Son and New Tricks. Game 10 would keep it up with A Wake. Game 11 no Trust. Game 12 and 13 will have tons of Trust action between The Lady Tonight, Rain in Vain, The Blister and the whole Wilt storyline.
I do admit to being more fascinated by Graves and the Minutemen. I find most of them have lots of personal moments and stories whereas aside from Megan, Augustus and Benito and to an extent, Vasco, most Trust members just don't get enough page time to be important and even the important ones aren't all that likable except Benito.
You take Right Ear Left in the Cold, Cole Burns Slow Hand and especially the early issues of Wilt and Cole, though not a "good" person, is a very likable person. You understand him, though he is complex and you've seen pain in his eyes. After Megan's performance in Shot Back Water and the Counterfifth Detective, I have no sympathy for her. She's a jerk who uses her looks and money to do whatever she wants. Then when bad things happen to her, she breaks down and cries.
I really should have read those comics before playing in this...A friend recommended the series to me shortly after it started, but I just never got around to reading it.
