With characters that use HSS, are you able to move and attack repeatedly? Like, when you use HSS are you able to move into contact, make an attack, break away, move back, make another attack, etc etc. If not, then why is HSS so great? It just seems like Bound and Running Shot put into one ability.
Hyper Sonic Speed allows you to move your full movement, during that movement you can make 1 attack (ranged or close) in which you can continue your movement. It allows for automatic break away. There are plenty of advantages when using this power, just like any other.

it is so good because you don;t have to stop next to your opponant and then make an attack. You can move after the attack. HSS breaks two or three rules in this game. Running Shot and Charge only break one.

NEW HEROCLIX MOTTO: Nothing Solves problems in Heroclix like Superman and a Dumpster.
HYPERSONIC SPEED: Give this character a power action and move it up to its speed value. It automatically breaks away and can move through squares adjacent to opposing characters. During its move, this character may as a free action make one close combat or ranged combat attack with its range value halved for the attack. This character must be in a square where it could legally end its move in order to make the attack.
Always good to go back and re-read the power in question because usually you can find the answer in the wording of the power. Sometimes folks can get confused with the definitions of attacks/actions/free actions/power actions though.
BTW remeber if your item is continual if you make a close combat attack with your HSS you MUST drop it and then pick it back up after that attack.
1. Continual does NOT mean that an object is not destroyed when used in an attack. In fact, it is no longer a rules term. When it was a rules term, it meant the object continued to function while being held.
2. If you are making a close combat attack with the Dumpster or the Generator, which work as you described, those objects are used in the attack, then placed in a square adjacent to the target. You MAY pick them back up in the same action (you don't have to).
ok is Option #2 for HSS (as per the Legion of Superheros Powers and Abilities card) still viable in the rules? i havent seen it mentioned in later/more recent rulesets.

That's because there no longer is an option 2. It was removed a while ago.
never tried using option 2 really, just option 1 for hit and run attacks.
may have to try using 2 sometime, in a friendly game where its agreed upon of course
<remembers the days of option 2 with no rule of 3 and perplexing Flash's attack to 25 to have him KO Supes turn 1>
