Hulk set SR House of M Hulk's defensive white power
The power says:
Hulk can use toughness. Hulk ignores all damage dealt to him unless it is dealt by an attack and the attack roll is doubles. [then more that is irrelevent to my question]
Now, pushing damage says it is damage that cannot be ignored unless a game effect specifies that it can. Mystics is unavoidable damage, which is also damage that cannot be ignored.
Will these things damage Hulk if he is on his defense white power? Does the Hulk's power saying it ignores "all but..." trump the damage that cannot be ignored?

When a character using the Mystics team ability takes damage from an attack, the attacker is dealt 1 unavoidable damage. This damage is not an attack.
unavoidable damage is
Unavoidable damage is damage dealt that can’t be evaded, reduced, ignored, or transferred to another character.
see how they both state damage dealt.
that means Mulk ingnores it
Is that a change in the most recent rules? I seem to remember it being damage taken before.
But still, I think it hurts him; he ignores damage, and Mystics can't be ignored. Correct?

I probably confused that with Penance's SP then, which I always think of as Mystics, to simplify it in my head.
Don't have the rulebook here to check though, I admit.

A specific statement is NOT the same as a catch-all statement, especially when using a very specific game term. If Hulk's power says it ignored unavoidable damage, there wouldn't be a question. Saying it ignores "all but X" doesn't necessarily encompass unavoidable damage.
Hulk's power says he ignores damage. Unavoidable damage says it cannot be ignored.

I think it is like the HoT Cap rule. Basically because his special power says that "the ONLY thing that blocks his line of fire is walls and indoor blocking terrain". So regardless of any other power or effect in the game only those two things block his line of fire.
In this case, Hulk ONLY takes damage if it is from an attack, and only if that is doubles. So I would say since Mystics isn't damage dealt from an attack he ignores it.
If they said "takes damage" I would agree with you. However they chose to use the word "ignores." It could be that damage that cannot be ignored is assume to still hurt him and the power is only excluding things that would damage him otherwise.

I lean towards this not working against pushing damage as written. I hope they fix that because it seems a rather serious weakness in this guy.
Well he is indomitable, but all you need is someone to outiwt that and he won't be attacking nearly as often. It will take 2 outwits to incap him though becausse of the battle fury.

Okay, maybe it isn't that serious a weakness. But there are ways to token him without Incapacitate, so you could get by with one Outwit and a special power.
