I have seen a few mentions of how Street Fighter is not Modern, yet.
To quote Jerome from the Alliance Summit, he said that SF is Modern Age "as of right now." This was stated on stage during Wizkids presentation, then repeated at their booth.
Is this indeed true, or do we have to wait for some official errata?
As far as I know, there are no official WK events (like Worlds) for awhile yet... so there is plenty of time for the changes to be made to the official tournament documentation.
In the meantime, we all know that SF will be/is Modern Age legal... but Judges can continue to make house rules as they see fit. Like always.
Again, I am confused...
In a previous thread, nbperp "officially" announced (in response to a post by me) that Street Fighter 2 that will be released next year will be legal in Modern Age.
When did the already-released Street Fighter get added to that?

Yeah, all I seen was the NEW Street Fighter set would be Modern Age Legal.
Would be weird if only the new set was modern considering the release date of the last set and that there is no real reason for it to not be considered modern.

Why the hell are people hanging on to this so hard? It's the dumbest distinction I've seen repeatedly made in the last good long while.
Do people REALLY think the new set will be legal and the old one won't? Honestly?
And house rules is fine, by my venue, traditionally liberal in this regard, has taken a surprisingly segregationist view on things recently, and I know my SF dudes will remain illegal until the document that says otherwise is released. So I hope that document comes out sooner than later, officially and finally.
That's why everyone should wait until the Official Comprehensive Tournament Rules gets updated rather then making speculations and false claims.
No need to get angry, just go by what your venue is going by until its official, what ever that might be or include.

Wait, did you just advocate a calm and reasoned response? Heretic!!
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I've posted this before. I'm sure I'll post it again.
Street Fighter will be added to the list of Modern Age sets in the next version of the Comprehensive Tournament Rules. Not the second set, not the first set, the brand as a whole.
Does this mean that your venue will support Street Fighter as Modern Age? Perhaps. But just like before (when Street Fighter was not Modern Age) venues could establish for their venues that SF was allowed in Modern, so, too, can venues now decide that even though SF is Modern, they disallow it at their venue.
Just like a venue can say that their house rules prohibit universe-mixing.
Just like a venue can say their house rules use Highlander rules for team building.
Just like a venue can establish whatever rules they need to in order to promote the best HeroClix community for their players.
Nothing has changed in that regard. What has changed is what the default definition of "Modern Age" means.

Because, like I said, the new Street Fighter set being Modern Age legal was the only solid info I've seen so far. I didn't say it made sense, but I'm not going to assume anything.

Doesn't matter what anyone thinks, it only matters what they tell us. Until it's in the Players Guide or someone from WK says so I'm not assuming anything. I don't care about a bunch of second hand info. I've heard it both ways so far (both sets are/only the new one is), so which one is it? It seems like the old one will become Modern Age legal, but again there is no solid info yet.

The question now is when is this next version, and with such a large change [relatively], will it be coming sooner than next May [or whenever]?
'Cause people are gonna be against this no matter what you say here and now until this is in that document.
