Today we bring you a figure capable of dealing with bad guys that fall beneath most heroes' radar. He is the Punisher!
The Punisher begins play maneuvering into battle with his Handgun thanks to early-dial Charge. Willpower allows the Punisher to swing again at his target, or take advantage of his Sharpshooter ability to make a range attack while in adjacency. Switching tactics, the Punisher gains Plasticity for a couple clicks to almost ensure his opponent is going no where, while the combination of Combat Reflexes and Close Combat Expert ensures the Punisher will be hard to hit and hit hard! I dig Weapon Swap, more or less, although it's odd that it happens after he shoots. Eh.
And was that sculpt done by the Realms guy who did all those other 3D sculpts, but who wasn't an employee? It has a very... similar look to it, although I can't quite put my finger on it.
Okay this punisher could be potentially very awesome. He's got the ability to swap between any of the punishers with the trait, and because the token for that ranged combat action applies after you've swapped out if you're inclined to do so, you could swap back to him from another figure when he's on willpower and avoid the pushing damage completely. With some cheap TK he'll be quite a monster.
Bring on... Guy Gardner: THE WARRIOR!
Hey I just based you, and this is crazy, but here's my crit miss. KO me maybe?
It's very interesting with the multiple Punisher dials. I do wish his trait would have been worded differently where you swap him out AFTER you declare the ranged combat action but BEFORE you actually attack, so that you could surprise your opponent with a grenade or rocket in the face.
Punisher is very cost effective for such a well-known character. Makes sense, though. I wondered about the Charge and then I saw the Sharpshooter, but I still feel like punisher should be stealthy, at least early game, but maybe another of the punishers will have stealth so you can switch into it after you shoot someone to go hidey-hide.
Starting Willpower is...interesting. Honestly, with Charge, I would have liked Combat Reflexes there instead. If Punisher gets hit, he'll most likely take more than 1 click anyways, and could get tossed right onto Willpower again and get KO'd after one more attack.
Is Punisher really a Martial Artist or does he just punch and kick people really hard? Martial Artist teams just keep getting more and more ammunition (pun intended).
