General Mafia rules, stolen from myself and other people:

This game will be more complicated than what's described there, as nearly everyone has some sort of 'special thing' about them. Doesn't mean everyone has a night power, but you never know...

2) When you vote, please do so by saying Vote: [Player] in bold. If you wish to change your vote, please say Change Vote: [Player] instead. If you wish to leave your vote with another player, say leave vote with [player]. You cannot leave your vote with someone who already controls another player's vote.

3) You may NOT send a PM to anyone about this game unless your role explicitly says you can. This is cheating.

4) Do NOT edit your posts in this thread. This is cheating.

5) Please do not copy-and-paste anything from any PM I send you to the thread. This is also cheating.

6) Please do not post in this thread after you are killed. While not cheating, this is rather tacky and leads to a cranky moderator.

7) It is in your best interest to try and post when you are able to do so.

8) Phases are 24 hours long during the week and 36 hours during the weekend unless stated otherwise. That doesn't mean you have to use all that time though... the sooner I get night actions the sooner the game can reopen.

9) If you do not send in a night action I will make you my ##### for the night. Exactly what that means may vary. Randomization, modkill, or just screwing around with you... who knows? Even if you do not want to do anything that particular night you should tell me so.

10) You will only be told your action failed if you are expecting a return PM.

11) If two or more night actions conflict, the action submitted first gets priority.

12) Remember that this is just a game. Have fun and behave.

Important things to note (Taken from Magnito, of course):

1) While I did take a lot of roles that the mods suggested, it was not always possible to do so. Therefore, some of the roles were not the suggested one. Because of this, voting for someone because they claim a role from your game that you did not submit is not a valid reason.

2) There is not a strict 1 character per game policy. Some games may have more then one character. Therefore, voting for someone because they claim a character from a game that is already represented is also not valid.

3) Some roles had to be modified to make them work. While there are some roles that are identical to how they were, some are defiantly not.

4) Every role is written a little differently because they are similar to the original roles. Therefore, while 2 people may have the same win condition, it could be phrased very differently.

5) I apologize in advance if characters in this game act out of character. I am not familiar with all the games, so I may not get the characterizations right.

Roles

It was Saturday night and the young man sat at home, all alone. While sitting on his bed, with his laptop, he contemplated the things he could be doing. He could be doing homework, but he really didn’t want to. He looked down at his cell phone. As the hours passed, the chances that it would ring and one of his friends would want to do something seemed less and less likely. Oh well, he thought. It was mafia time…

First, there is darkness, complete and utter. Next, light pierces the darkness as a door slides open and a man in a suit, carrying a briefcase steps through. The door slides shut behind him, leaving darkness once again, but the man remains completely visible. He turns, and seems to survey his surroundings, which, as you have already been informed, is darkness. Adjusting his tie, he turns again, and walks away until he is no longer seen. It is clear this man has power, it is clear this man is a threat, and he does not go unnoticed.

The sun slowly rose over the small community. One by one, its inhabitants woke up and started going about their business.
One of them stepped out on his porch, wearing sturdy boots and a Viking helmet, with a big jar of mayonnaise under his arm. He stepped out on his lawn, waved to his neighbor, and started unscrewing the lid of the mayonnaise jar.

"Wouldn't mind at all." the other man said.
"Well... It's worth a try. We'll see how it goes." the young man said. He left the room and then was... gone, leaving the other man alone in the room.
"Excellent... Now we're playing by my rules!"

It is different seeing things from this side of the fence, that is for sure. Still, excited to have the chance.

I've had pretty rotten luck in previous All-Stars. Lucky 13 maybe?

Does that mean that both dbauers and Magnito are Mafia, and want to use this as moral leverage hoping that Magnito isn't killed early?

Too early to say, best wait until Mags leaves town before we vote for him. Anyhow, very cool, I enjoy All-stars.

Quick question, how anyone ever done a year in review mafia? Not an All-Stars per se, but taking the roles from the games of the past year. I'll have some down time in January and February and would like to run it. Any thoughts?

I don't think that has been done. Keep in mind that the 17 games here just cover a spring - from January to May (Or possibly April...), so the source material would be a lot bigger if you want to include a whole year.
It might work if you let people submit their favorite roles from the past year though. Just a thought.

Well, Day 1 pressure could be funny. Though I like this idea of a Best Of, the All Star lag can be a bit much with the sheer number of games to get through.

My wheelhouse has always been First Night Death mafia. Which is amusing by itself.

Will you be running FND3 before or after Good Omens?

An excellent question! I have no idea. Still trying to figure out how to make Good Omens work while keeping it in tune with the story.

Maybe instead of factions, everyone has an individual wincon. Or a bunch of 'mini-mafias' that don't have the exact town/mafia/sk mix you expect.
