It wouldn't work. Wolverine's trait requires TEAM SYMBOLS. ATAs don't have them and Cypher's sp doesn't give them, only allows the use of the Team ability.

Juggernaut has the X-men keyword and the Brotherhood Team symbol.
Phoenix has the X-men keyword and the Power Cosmic symbol.
Iceman has the X-men keyword and the Spider-man and X-men symbols.
Kitty pride has the Shield and X-men symbols.
Someone else already mentioned Beast and Emma Frost.
There are a lot of characters you can team him up with to activate the trait.
My question is whether the figures with the three symbols all have to be on the board at the same time to use the trait. So, if glassjaw Beast gets KOed and I lose the Avengers symbol, does Wolverine lose the +1 to his attack? Also, what the h is up with the useless final click? Can we please get a Wolverine who is able to stay in the game for more than five minutes? Wolverine is a powerhouse who appears on several teams. He should be mopping the floor with other figs and then going through their pockets for beer money. Why does Wolverine fizz out so quickly, Wizkids?

It doesn't just take figures with two teams, you can pick any three figures that have teams. Captain America (A), Spiderman (SM), and Dr. Strange (D) would do it.

That's right. You can really play him with anything, and if there are three team symbols on your build, he can use the trait. I was just trying to share some ideas of figs you could build with him that share a keyword as well (other than the new FF figs from Hulk for whom he was clearly designed).

Heck if you wanted to have some fun with him in a large build and didn't care about keywords, you could play him with the GSX Onslaught; he's got four team abilities right there. You wouldn't even need to worry about Wolvie losing use of the trait if a team symbol got knocked out of play until late in the game. That could be a fun scenario too.

I'm not sure that's right. His trait specifically requires that OTHER friendly characters on the team possess three or more different team symbols.

what it say's is "among them", so, each one doesnt need to have 3 TA's, there just has to be 3 or more in your team, and there are a total of 4, fantastic four, spider-man ally, x-men, and mystics, so his trate works just fine, its all in the wording, and the wording is "among them"

the other members of your team must have a combined 3 TAs among them for wolverines trait to trigger. doesnt have to be the other new FF members could be anyone.

example you can have say GSX beast who ahs x-men and avengers and nick fury who has shield and wolverines trait will trigger (beast 2 fury 1 = 3 and different)

The only thing I have issue with is the name of his trait. Wouldn't his first Non "X" team be Alpha Flight? They've retconned him several times to be a "founding member" of Canada's finest. Typical Wizkids. Showing no love for the Great White North.

Technically he was part of alpha flight before he even was an x-man. As he became part of alpha flight not to long after he broke out of weapon x facility (in 1 iteration anyway)
