For today’s Marvel HeroClix: Hulk preview, we turn the spotlight to some of the soldiers associated with Advanced Idea Mechanics, better known as the terrorist organization A.I.M.! Let’s take a closer look at the A.I.Marine! [...]
On the back half of the A.I.Marine’s dial is Shape Change to represent his exposure to Gamma radiation. The A.I.Marine also has an alter ego special power, A.I.Marine Hulk, which allows him to transform into the formidable A.I.Marine Hulk! [...]
Not bad at all. I actually really like the A.I. Marine for this set. 6 range running shot is good for sealed. Give him some perplex help and your golden.

I'm afraid I didn't read the recent Hulk stuff closely enough to be more than passing familiar with these generic grunts. example: I just now Got the A.I. part. I thought they were virtual~!
I get that the underlying theme in this set is the Æ mechanic, and transformations in general. The realms have been giving it a lot of flak, but I'm hoping all the transforming going on in sealed is going to be a blast, and I think like most sets, players will take back their harsh words after they get them in hand. I have a feeling these guys are going to be hard to trade for.
I like both Marines, but it's a good thing those Brick figures are packed in boosters, now. You're paying points on that marine for an Alter Ego that can only be used on a Brick figure. I like both figures, but it's a good thing those Brick figures are packed in boosters, now.

I don't like how every brick figure now relies on playing off of another specific piece, sometimes even the same brick figure. Jamie Madrox, Fury LMD, Supes Robot's minion power, and now this hulk who needs other brick hulks or army guys to get good.
I don't expect to get another World's Finest piece fit, especially because I am a fan of putting them randomly in the boxes now, but come on. Give me a good figure that doesn't rely on multiples or limiting my play with them to one other specific character. At least the Superman Robots are only limited to team abilities.
I would have loved to see something like the definitive Hulk everyone is dying for to be the brick piece. Make him a high cost character over 300 pts so he can't dominate over sealed events. That way you're giving the people what they want without affecting gameplay in events like that.
Looks like the Intelligencia is shaping up for a decent debut. M.O.D.O.K. and The Leader, his Humanoids, Red Hulk, Robot Hulk, A.I.Marines and A.I.Marine Hulks seems like a fair number of options. Pity Klaw didn't make the cut, but given Lyra's lack of the keyword, it looks like they are keeping Frightful Four and Intelligencia separate. Wonder what that would mean for the Wizard if he made the set?
Finally a brick figure I want more than one of.
I was given rep for my screen name alone! Now I feel all warm inside
I just wonder why the Hulked-Out dude drops the Hydra TA. Regular mook gets the TA. Big devil you really want to play, no TA. Bummer. For 92 points he's pretty solid. If only all the figures in the bricks were as good as the brick figure itself.
Ugh. I didn't think the A.I.Marine Hulk would also come with an A.I.Marine soldier AE figure. There's one more spot filled up with a re-used sculpt instead of something new. While the A.I.Marine character is probably more playable than the brick figure Hulk, and I appreciate that both are Hulk-related characters, more soldiers wasn't what I was really looking for in yet another slot.
As far as the A.I.Marine Hulk character goes, I don't think it's very playable - especially in sealed. I really am not a fan of conditional Special Powers. I prefer my powers to just work all the time. When a power is prefaced by a condition such as "When this character does X..." or "If this character is next to X..." or "If your attack roll is doubles...", it really cuts down on their usefulness - particulary in sealed play where these factors can rarely be met and used to full potential. The Hulked-out figure already lost the Hydra TA, and Super Strength - while nice to have - is also not maximized unless carrying objects. I would never want to field an army of these guys without the "Rip It Up" feat assigned to one of them.
Let's Play "Whoizzit?"
My Avatar is an as-yet-un-clixed character. If you know who it is, be the first respondant to correctly identify this character I'll send you some free rep!

I don't mind them re-using the sculpt for making these. I just wish it was more of a standard soldier pose, rather than the finger-pointy thing.
That said, I love em'. I love generics, and these are going to be fun. MODOK is most pleased.

Eh just give me the brick fig. All it takes is one hit most of the time to destroy that marine so I'd rather pay an additional 42 points for the full Hulk version.
and I agree. Sould have been a Common instead of UC.
