I have two favorite setups for theme teams. Anyone that has played me can tell you what they are.
Scientists and Illuminati.
I decided to go through and mod some of my favorite pieces. Some you've probably seen before, but this is my first time modding an entire playable team. At 600 points, this team is 13 points shy of being exact. In golden age, I slap a few feats depending on the game. In silver and modern, I just toss in a special object or two.
So here's my line-up. Oddly enough, I just noticed they're all from Secret Invasion.
Build
100 SI101 Mr. Fantastic
188 SI021 Iron Man
150 SI045 Namor
149 SI033 Dr. Strange
-587 theme
Again, some of these have been posted before, but I wanted them posted all together with the new ones. I'll post some Black Bolt and Professor X mods once I get them done.
Couldn't stand the "helmet in hand" Iron Man, so I rebuilt him. Except for the head and the left hand, this is made up entirely of the SI Iron Man. Head is from the WoS Iron Man, left hand is from XP Crimson Dynamo. The boot jets are made from those awesome little clear plastic fake christmas lights.
Never did like the stretchy-neck gun-toting Mr. Fantastic. This one here is the legs from the SI Mr. Fantastic with the upper body of the Fantastic Forces one, the right arm from an Elastic Man, and the head from DC75 Superman. Wasn't sure which costume to go with, so I just left him in the same one the SI version was in.
Finally, we have Dr. Strange. I kinda liked the SI sculpt, but it always seemed a bit small. So I took the Fantastic Forces sculpt, replaced the legs with Abra Kadabra's, and set him up on some hot glue smoke made to match his clear bits in his hands. Hated that the FF sculpt didn't have gloves, so I made it a point to paint those on.
NOTE: These pictures don't do this one justice. Looks better in person.
Love the Namor. In fact, after seeing it I realised I had a spare Aquaman and, while not having the upper half of that Namor, just repainted that figure to look pretty good, and borrowed the trident from a Triton figure. Good stuff. That Mr Fantastic is amazing.
These all look awesome, but Namor is downright wicked awesome. I've had my SI Namor for years, but never play him due to his crappy awful looking sculpt with terrible paintjob. I might just steal this idea and mod my own if I can track down an old Sub-Mariner and Aquaman.
BTW, what did you use for the top half of his costume to go on the Sub-Mariner body?

I just sculpted on the edges of his vest with Greenstuff.

That's insanely clever of you sir. Kudos! Honestly, that Namor mash-up you did looks better than about half the finished product I pulled from Cap and Hulk.
