So my friend that I play clix with on Mondays finally got his Illuminati team put together (for just shy of 1000pts) and I wanted to make my own team to go against his. I tooled around with the Quasar / Fury combo quite a bit and thought that would be good to use, so I went with a S.H.I.E.L.D. team:
FFIH003 She-Hulk + Rip it Up - 75+20 = 95
CA048 Quasar - 263
CA023 Nick Fury -109
CA031 Steve Rogers + Contingency Plan - 99+12 = 111
CA055 Kitty Pryde + Double-Time - 111+5 = 116
CA006 Black Widow + Thunderbolts ATA - 85+8 = 93
SI021 Iron Man - 188
Total: 975
I'm looking for something to fill in those last 25 points. Any ideas or constructive criticisms would be great. Thanks!
Wow. Personally I'd have gone the more swarm theme team route for SHIELD, and would have shied away from using Iron Man since I will be facing him.
With generics and range, you'll have plenty of available actions that you can use to bump your damage up with. Usable healers are available in the GF, Mandroid Armors can provide TK, and they have plenty of figures with Outwit and Stealth.
Honestly, I'd probably drop Kitty Pryde and bring in some generic figs to use for support, tie-ups, and mastermind fodder. The Mandroid Armors are super useful for TK placement, and you can grab some cheap agents/medics, too.
Right now, I'd say the biggest problem with your team is that it's got too many high-poing pieces.
If I was going to build a 1000 point shield team around Quasar and Nick Fury, it would look something like this.
CA Quasar 263
CA Nick Fury 109
IH She-Hulk 105
CA Shield Specialist 37 X 2= 74
AV Winter Solider 70
SI Iron Man 188 + BT 20 = 208
CT Mandroid Armor 28 X 2 = 56
CA Steve Rodgers 99 + Contingency Plan 12 = 111
Scorpio Key 4
Total 1000
The Shield Specialists can use support so try and keep them safe.
The Mandroid Armors can T.K. for first strike.
I like the regular IH She-Hulk, with one push she gets outwit and Impervious and is a serious close combat threat. A good combo would be to keep Nick, She-Hulk and a Shield specialist together. That way Nick can Mastermind damage to She-Hulk and then the shield specialist can heal her back up.
Quasar, Iron Man, or Winter Solider should pick up the key. It would benefit each one of them greatly.
Here's hoping we get a Vanilla Ice Clix in the next TMNT set.
This is my base 400 point SHIELD team:
IC R SHIELD Agent 10pts
SN Shield Sniper w/ Spotters X 2 54pts
SN Shield Agent 29 pts
SN Sam Wilson 53pts
SI Nick Fury w/ contingency plan 112pts
Winter Soldier 70pts
HOT Captain America 72pts
If I was going to change it up to put quasar in I would also swap in the other Nick Fury. This would still leave you plenty of room to add in some power pieces.
SHIELD swarm teams work great. A lot of them start with stealth and you just use your fliers to position and use leadership to keep everyone attacking. Winter Soldier when positioned correctly should have a 13 range, 6 damage, and 11-13 attack at least 2 out of every 3 turns. I put Captain America and Fury next to him to try to keep using their leadership to clear him. Good luck
Awesome. So the general idea I'm getting here is to do a swarm or pseudo-swarm team, and not to put so many high-point clix in. I'll definitely give those a shot.
Thank you all for your input, you've been a great help.
