This is my first post. Was hoping someone could help explain something to me.
When using a character with the doom ability -i.e ability to use any other team ability on your force, when do you have to decide which ability to use. Are you limited to using just one ability per turn?
For example, say my force consists of a doombot (minions of doom ability), huntress (batman ally), joker (batman enemy) and an intergang agent (superman enemy), and we are fighting darkseid.
If I have doombot, in hindering terrain, adjacent to both joker and an intergang agent, can I:
A:
- Attack darkseid using Joker’s attack value (as per batman enemy team ability) and simultaneously outwit his toughness (as per Superman enemy team ability).
B:
- Attack using Joker’s attack value (as per batman enemy team ability).
- once that attack is done, use outwit on darkseid.
C:
-use only one of the abilities during the turn
Then, in my opponent’s turn, having used either the superman enemy or batman enemy ability, or both, in my turn, can I declare that doombot has stealth (as per huntress’s batman ally team ability) preventing Darkseid from attacking me?
Basically, do you have to at some point nominate which team ability you will use, and are you limited to one per round or turn?
You are on the right track with B. Wildcard team abilities allow you to use only one team ability during each action, whether it's your turn (and actions) or your opponent's turn.

B is correct, you can change team affiliation at any time including your opponent's turn, but only use one for any given action. Also, you are not limited to changing only to abilities you haven't used yet, you may switch back and forth between any legal ability freely.
Also remember that if you first declare Superman Enemy, and Outwit his Invul, then change to Batman Enemy for the attack, you lose Outwit and his power returns.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
So then in my opponent's turn, do i select as many abilities as i want as and when they arise, or select only one for the whole of his turn?
e.g. can taskmaster
A: use one team ability in relation to one attack, say batman ally stealth, and then a different ability for a second attack, say skrull shapechange?
B: use one team ability in relation to one attack, say batman ally stealth, and then be considered to be 'stealthy' for the rest of the turn, unable to use a different power
C: nominate which team ability he will use at the start of opponents turn, and hope that he has picked the most useful for whatever attacks he may receive, unable to change the ability as attacks arise.
I'm assuming from your reply that i can select a different ability in response to each of his actions - i.e. option A.
Ok, I may come across as a complete idiot here, but....
Webhead, you said
-You are on the right track with B. Wildcard team abilities allow you to use only one team ability during each action, whether it's your turn (and actions) or your opponent's turn.-
But the Team abilities section on the sheet says
- They can use any team ability that any friendly figure in play possesses. They can use multiple abilities on any one turn-
Swo why are they only allowed to use one team ability during their action?I would have though it fine to declare use of the sinister syndicate ability, attack, and then announce use of the Skrulls team ability to give the defensive bonus during your opponents turn.
Can you let me know where it says you can only use one?
Thanks (Please don't hate me, I'm only new at this!)
The idea is that the wildcard character can only have one team ability at a time, so you have to switch from one team ability to use another, which means the first team ability is now null.
That's why you can't use multiple at the same time, but you can switch between many team abilities a turn.
