What would you have done other then a No Man's Land Event?
Like most of us I've seen the recent GAMA pics and the revelation of the DC event being a Batman, Utility Belt event.
I just don't see it being on par with the Infinity Gauntlet. My preference would've been something like a New Guardians Event.
Two ideas I would've done:
New Guardians:
1. Have the clix base be the shrine where Krona had all the pillars with the Lantern Symbols and ontop of each one you could have one of the lantern entities. Each event could be one of the possessed Lantern Entities and finish it off with a Krona Piece.
2. Have the participation prizes be Lantern Ring objects and have each month be one of the members of the New Guardians. And make the final piece, the "Grey Lantern" Kyle Rayner.
I'm not a big Batman fan, but I probably wont be playing in very many of these. I was hoping for a JLA type thing where you're building a post flashpoint JLA. You get objects based on the character either their item or one used against them. I'm stoked for Killer Croc though. May have to paint him grey for the Batman cartoon from the 90's.

This was actually my suggestion in an earlier thread about the DC's version of the Infinity Gauntlet. Given the popularity of the Lanterns, it made the most sense to me.
I was kinda hoping for a Crisis on Earth ___ kind of thing, where each of the major "crisis" storylines could be utilized. I think the Utility belt is too limiting. You're Silver Surfer. How much is the batarang going to help you? Just sayin'
I was hoping maybe a new Anti-Monitor would be the final figure, with various months being everything from a Shadow Demon, a Qwardian , a major villain from the various earths who played a role in the important "Crisis" runs over the years, to a SHAZAM from Earth-S, CPT Atom of Earth 4, whatever. Embrace DC history!
They spent so much time setting up Hyperspace, then the 52, only to end up in the New 52, that is not related to the old 52 as far as I can tell, that maybe they were stuck with only 2 options: War of Light or the Batman Utility belt?
As tired as many people were of the Skittles Lanterns, they would have lent themselves well to this type of event.
A new Yellow Lantern/Green Lantern/Indigo, etc special object? Yes please! would be awesome since they are retired soon and the Gauntlet made virtually every special object obsolete.
While the utility belt is slightly less iconic as a "Power-Item" I believe that No-Man's land is a much more interesting "Campaign" type scenario. Additionally, I am a rather large batman fan, so it's cool with me

I'm fine with No Man's Land, though.
And I'm more fine (that's GOTTA be grammatically incorrect) with your idea.
I'm a huge Batman fan. It's why I'm in Clix. Originally I was only going to collect Batman related stuff. (You can imagine how that worked out.)
So, since I don't enjoy "competitive" play, this announcement horks me off to no end.
I like your idea because I reject the Rainbow Lantern idea outright and have no interest in any of it. It was really nice not caring if I got any White Lanterns or not.
I'm being totally unrealistic and selfish and I realize it. I knew it would happen sooner or later, but that doesn't mean I can't be bothered by it.
I just don't want to pay through the nose for Batman related HeroClix.

This is kinda where I'm sitting. I don't have a huge interest in the LE characters from the IG events (though the In-Betweener's DIAL is compelling), so I am not to troubled if I don't get them. Major Bat Villains though? Yeah, I'll probably be wanting those. This event is going to be expensive for me. Unless they're a bunch of duos or something (there's a Joker/Harley duo in the slide for this, right?).
I'm a big miffed that DC doesn't get a Resource as powerful as the IG, but hey, maybe they can figure out a way to make the belt as broken as the gauntlet, so there are at least options. :P
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the Resources and what I see as their impact in the game. At all. I'd rather see Gamma Bombs every game than the IG.
As for a Lantern-themed event...I'd probably want any new previously-unclixed members of the GLC/Sinestro Corps/Black Lantern Corps/Red Lantern Corps (at LEAST Dex-Starr!), but I could pass on most of them (including any versions of Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner :P). I do think it's got more potential to give DC a "power" resource though.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
I love Batman, so I'm good with the No Man's Lande event, but I thought they should have done something bigger to compete with the IG event. I suggested Blackest Night with a different color rings as participation prizes that connected to the Book of Oa or the Book of the Black. The prizes would have been different Black Lanterns that had not yet been made and a colossal Nekron at the end. I know people are sick of the Lantern stuff, but it made more sense to me on a larger scale.
Again, I'm fine with the Batman event. I might finally get a new Azrael since he played a big role in No Mans Land. My fingers are crossed. It will be interesting to see what each object on the utility belt does and what bonus you receive when they ate all combined.

Yeah, after ten White Lantern chases I ditched any attempt at be a completist for Lantern clix. I was going to keep pursuing all of the Corps other than the White, but even that interest has died off. Now I'm only goingo ut of my way to collect Green Lanterns, Sinestro Corps, and Black Lanterns. The rest I can take or leave.
I wonder if the Utility Belt OP will break me of my need to own all clix Batman?

Props for using "horks".
Batman is okay, but by the time I get thru the Guantlet event, I doubt I'll want to play in another one.
These sort of events, along with Supremacy League that "require" one to play heroclix, aren't my bag.
.
I don't enjoy "having" to play clix, it quits being a hobby and becomes job-esque.
I was hoping that the announcement would quell some of the moaning about WK hating DC, but all it has done is redirect the hate to a more focused area.

Caveat:
I stopped reading DC after 52.
Was there another No Man's Land?
I'm hesitant about which Azzy I'd be getting.
I borrowed the Arkham game from a friend and I simply detest the "new" Azzy from that.
Also, I don't want the GambitAzzy from the end of his run.
The first 30 or so issues of Azrael are Gospel (no pun intended) as far as I'm concerned.
