Episode 2 of the Push to Regen podcast is up on our site!
This episode JCorduroy and I discuss 2 of the previews for the Avengers Movie and Galactic Guardians sets that have us excited, we discuss when to theme team and when not to theme team, and bring back the Common Justice, $3 Theme Team, and Nate's Question of the Week segments. All this and more can be found at the following locations:
Feel free to use this thread as a discussion forum for the topics we discussed in the show and as a place to suggest things we can do to make the show better. Hope you enjoy!
...special guest appearance during this episode by my 3 year old son Victor screaming in the background toward the start of the show, who was busy having a meltdown in his room when mommy tried putting him to bed.
Also, apologies for me talking to my dog at around the 14:30 mark. I apparently forgot to edit out the part where I told myself to 'edit all this out, Jay'. <sigh>
Sounded great, liked everything you said! Love me some ice and darkstar too! I just wanna say I'm lovin' this podcast!
One suggestion would be to mention specific things that people have emailed. I didn't clarify this in my email but I thought it would be nice for the $3 stuff I sent you to be mentioned for other players. You don't necessarily have to play those teams but having ideas out there will help players find good pieces or teams for cheap prices. Now if you don't agree with this idea, don't roll with it, it is just a minor suggestion. Let me know what you think of this.
Thank you, Owlman and pupulesurfer. Glad you guys are enjoying it.
Surfer, we definitely got your email and I was thinking that if we were to run one of the themes you used in your teams we could maybe mention teams that have been sent in by listeners as an additional option. That way we keep on topic with the teams we're building but we still give the listeners more team options. We'll definitely give you a shoutout when we mention your teams.
Oh, and we just finished recording a special edition of Push to Regen last night that is purely reaction to the New Players guide and to the information coming out of the GAMA trade show. It's being edited now and we'll let you know when the first Push to Regen: Free Action will be available.
Thank you, Owlman and pupulesurfer. Glad you guys are enjoying it.

I wasn't looking for a shoutout or anything, I was just thinking if people sent ideas in if you felt any were good you'd mention them. That's all! I like your idea of still playing your teams because what's the use in building them or suggesting them and not seeing how they actually do? Seems like you guys got a good handle on things which is great to see in new podcasters! Keep on clixin guys!
I posted in the other thread about your podcast about this already, but I want to echo your sentiments about Ice once again. She is so so versatile for her points. Every power either complements another, or makes up for another's weakness, thus enabling her to have a ton of options. So often you look at a figure or a team, and can easily see how they plan to play or use that figure. With Ice...anything goes. You might play defensive suppory and barrier at 8 range, or put out some good damage for her points, or prevent another character from moving. Thats 3 vastly different possibilities for such a small amount of points. Usually, you see a figure with those options (super strength with RCE, or running shot with CCE) and you regret it because it seems that you're paying through the roof in points for those options. Well, somehow she only costs 47 points. I could go on and on about this figure...but you guys covered it pretty well. She's one of the best figures for the points in the game.
Also, great news about the special edition cast. I am really looking forward to hearing your opinions on what you liked/disliked about the recent changes. No worries about the sound and interruption problems you guys had. They were so short or I didnt even notice them that they didnt feel like they hindered the overall podcast at all. Also, makes it feel more like a casual discussion, which I like.
Who said you guys "chat" to much? It's what I like most about your show! Your "chats" are informative and on topic. Please keep that up. It's a great way to learn.

Thanks for all of the feedback, folks. And if you attempted to access the episode yesterday and were unable to, we apologize. Our podcast hosting site had some problems and weren't being too talkative about it. From what we can tell, it's all fixed now.
I just wanted to say-- LOVE the podcast! It's been an enjoyable listen so far and I'm looking forward to more episodes. You guys have great banter and thoughtful conversations.
I'm a huge fan of the $3 theme teams too. As a new player who's trying to suss out what to buy, it's great to get some ideas that aren't too pricey.
And the New Players Handbook and GAMA trade show reaction episode is up. We were hoping to get around 30 minutes or so... and ended up going over an hour. Sorry bout that. First 15 minutes are basically about the new ATAs and the remainder is 45 minutes of us geeking out over news for the upcoming year.
The episode can be found at all the usual places: Our Site iTunes (might not be up just yet but will be soon)
and Stitcher
Loved the free action report! The main thing that hit me too was Checkmate! My favorite theme to run and I'm losing them all! Except for Deadshot and both Maxwell Lord...but I want more!!!! Checkmate does exist in the nU 52 so maybe we will get lucky!
