I might have a problem if I showed up to work and a guy from a rival art museum showed up to break my kneecaps after having been paid to do so.
But considering the known bounties were Cam Newton, Brett Favre (capable of taking himself out of the pic), Aaron Rodgers and Kurt Warner...the knee-breakers weren't very good at collecting.

You must not have watched the NFC Championship game Saints vs Vikings.
Yeah, congrats, your opinion just became invalid. Crippling the opponent isn't the objective. Winning the game is the objective.
Personally, I blame Mister Muggles.
Your right crippling the opponent isn't the game but sending him to the sidelines for a few plays certainly helps a team win. If Warren Sap sends a QB to the sidelines EVEN for one play it can throw a team out of sync because now the back up has to deliver and not every back up is Matt Castle.
The thing is, I don't think this is over. Maybe for the Saints, but as a whole, it can get ugly. There are these bounty programs all over the league. It will be absolutely surprising if the Steelers don't have one. With James Harrison taking cheap shots left and right.

Yeah, but we want to break peoples' legs and get paid extra to do it. That is, apparently, your definition of "fun".
Sorry, I prefer something a little less brutal. And also, this hurts the NFL if their star players keep getting carted off on stretchers. Not to mention the "health conscious" mentality they claim... they have to come down like Mjolnir on the Saints, and the Saints should have known better.
And yes, I fully expect the Steelers to be put under the microscope as well.

Quite frankly, the Saints screwed their own pooch.
They knew full well that a bounty program was against NFL rules. They even received a warning not to continue the bounty program, but did not comply. They got caught promoting cash incentives to escalate violence within an already violent sport. The people in charge deserve what they brought down upon themselves.
I feel for the fans, who will be very hurt by this setback. That having been said, you can't make a rational argument to defend the Saints in this situation. You just can't.

I think the NFL handled this the only way they could. My only problem with this is how easy the Patriots got off in comparison. This is the reaction we should have seen to spygate.
