I looked at the Galactus thread and it did not answer all my questions.
Rather than list every trait and such, lets get to questions:
1) So the traits/keywords apply based on the dial. Does this apply this apply to Dorammamu and Uatu? Does Dorammamu lose his keywords once past 700 pt dial and does Uatu's 50 pt trait kick in if he starts at a higher point value?
2) one thing that wasn't clear to me: Do the traits carry over once past the dial? Do the point based traits only kick in on that particular dial or are they always on if you start at the right point cost?
3) for charaters that can use multiple dials to start, do they gain all the traits upfront or only when the particular point dial comes up?
goldpony's opinion is obviously something that we should take seriously-hail_eris
I don't think this has been clarified yet. As a stopgap, I'd rule that you get the traits/keywords of the dial you start playing with, and keep them for the entire game.

For what it's worth I would second this for the following reasons:
1) Simplification. The simplest route isn't always the best, but in this instance I think it is.
2) Just because you are going from a 600 to a 300 point DIAL, doesn't mean that the CHARACTER points changed. To me those traits are for the characters points, NOT the dials points.
3) This interpretation seems most likely what was intended if you read all the traits. It seems seamless this way, and reads very disjointed when you look at it as though the 1800pt Galactus goes through the traits.

jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.
So would you say that I wouldn't get the traits of a dial I didn't start with, even if I use that dial later?
For example: I use Galactus at 1800. I get Fundamental Force, My Herald, and You Shall Not Harm My Master for the entire game, and I don't get The Necessary "Evil" of This Universe.
I don't really want to weigh in, because I'll put work into understanding something and then it'll be proved wrong, but from looking at Galactus I see it as the trait is active while the dial is active.
As in, at 1800 points, he STARTS with "My Herald" so all that stuff's a go. And it's a no-end effect, so it stays going. Revenge tokens accrue and may be used while on 900 and 600, but not on 300 [in the same way the Herald dial has an effect on 9 and 6, but not 3].
Likewise, he has Multi-attack on 9 and 6 [but no mystics], and Mystics on 3 [but no multi-attack].
This is all conjecture, of course. But it's easier to understand looking at, say, Uatu, who has "A Conflict" when he starts at 400, "I'm Only A Watcher" at 50, and no traits when he starts at 200.
Actually, it's sorta not at all the same. But kind of?
Also, no word on damage flowing from one dial to the next or stopping between them?
So would you say that I wouldn't get the traits of a dial I didn't start with, even if I use that dial later?
For example: I use Galactus at 1800. I get Fundamental Force, My Herald, and You Shall Not Harm My Master for the entire game, and I don't get The Necessary "Evil" of This Universe.
That's how it looks to me. It just doesn't make sense to me that you would gain and lose the Herald dial, and Mystics TA, and Multi-attack. Or rather I should say it just doesn't look designed that way.
I think that you care what Galactus' cost is for the traits. And that is all. If he's 1800, he's 1800, this never changes. I feel like the traits correspond to HIS cost, not the dials.

Ok, but if you get the 900/600 point traits the whole game at 1800, why wouldn't you get the 300 point trait the whole game as well?
In that case I think you would.
Galactus' may be played at 900, 600 or 300. We understand that and the traits for it. No problem.
He may also be played at 1200 (900 then 300) , 1500 (900 then 600) , or 1800 (900 then 300 then 600) point value.
Re-reading the second part to me looks like these are wholly separate. Meaning if they defeat his 900 point dial the opponent gets 900 KO points. Then he becomes the 300pt Galactus.... so yeah, I don't know. It's a mess. All they really need to have done, and should do, is label the traits with the 1200, 1500 and 1800 pts. Should he have Multi-Attack and Mystics at 1200? Then just put 1200 next to both of the traits and so on.

I would rule it as when a character is being played @ 600 point dial and his card says Trait for 600 point dial than that is what he has. Now if the character is being played @ a higher point level, ie 1800, when that character is using that 600 point dial than that is his trait that he can use and not on any other dial.
It would be the same if a character has three different Special Attack powers one for each dial. You can't pick which one to use when you want too. Why would picking which trait I can use make any sense?
