If you say make Bruce Banner galactus's herald and then empower him with dormammu - What happens to Bruce banner when you AE him into the hulk does he lose the stat bonus's or keep them because it was the same character? please help lol thx

Dormammu= no, they are not the same character

Galactus= they can AE, but do not get the other benefits of being the herald, since they were not the character chosen. However, if you did AE and mighty G reaches his 600 point dial, you can bring the original figure back into play, AE again, and then have 2 swapped figures at once.

If you AE Bruce Banner, the replacement figure should recieve the bonuses because it's still the "same" figure for combat purposes. So yes, I believe you could have a House of M Hulk that is Galactus's Herald and the recipient of Dormamu's awesomeness at the same time: 9 speed, 12 attack, 2 defense, 6 damage, and 5 range with Flight (useless because of Battle Furry) and Power Cosmic. The almost unkillability combined with 12 attack and 6 damage is very tempting, but the opponent will likely see the plan and go straight for Banner. Now, if you bring Tabitha to the party you can AE him much sooner....

Of coarse, I'd be more tempted just to bring HoM Hulk at 193 points and throw the Gauntlet on him. Hit special power 3 and you're looking at a serious beast (as usual on 3), except he's way harder to kill than normal beasts wielding the gaunllet if he lands on that last click.

From the PG: "If a character is being affected by a power or ability when it is replaced for another (i.e., Alter-Ego, Morph, etc.) the new character remains affected." So yes, Hulk would still have the modifiers from Dormammu, and the modifiers and other benefits of being a herald.

I'm not sure if there is anything that doesn't carry over to the replacement figure, although things that have prerequisites may no longer do anything if the replacement does not meet the prereqs as well.

Everything carries over, but some things that have carried over might not work. For instance, if you have an ATA on Bruce Wayne and he turns into Batman, he might lose the use of his ATA if he no longer has the requisite keyword.

Conversely, if you want Batman to use an ATA he qualifies for, but which Bruce Wayne does not, you can pay the ATA cost for Bruce Wayne, even though he can't use it, but Batman will have it available when he transforms.

(Bruce Wayne to Batman is probably a bad example here, but it's the one used earlier in the thread so I ran with it.)

If some game effect was specifically triggered by a characters name, it might also be lost, depending on the exact wording, but I can't think of any actual examples, since so few effects in the game care about a character's name.

Well Hulkbusters ATA and Banner are a good example.
Banner can use the ATA and House of M Hulk can't.

To confirm...both effects carry over because they ARE the same character.

Can you do this? The Rulebook states for ATAs:
I'll use Norman Osborne/Iron Patriot for an example. I want to use the Dark Avengers ATA, but I'm starting with Norman Osborne, not IP. Since Norman doesn't qualify for the ATA, I shouldn't be able to assign it to him.

Norman does meet the prerequisites as he has the Dark Avengers keyword.
