*AVM Hulk Repaint* After being asked by several people, I have finally caved. Here are two quick tutorials covering both the "Ink Wash" and "Dry Brush" techniques of miniature/heroclix painting. Both steps are, in my opinion, straight forward enough for even the most average clix'er to employ. Good Luck and enjoy!
And here is the final result using both techniques compared to the standard issue:
Sure, the ink wash need only be a few shades darker than the original color. I just like using black because I feel it give the figures a more stark, "comic book" look.

For your finished project did you use both techniques or simply inkwash? After seeing this I inkwashed my silver surfer and dry brushed a bit of silver over, any drybrushed gold on his energy hands and I must say, he looks amazing. Also inkwashed AvM Destroyer and he looks great, and proceeded to take GG hulk and repaint into a red hulk, needles to say I was rather inspired and will be giving my Cyborg supes custom some tlc tamary
Awesome. Someone needs to dub this in Chinese and give it to Wizkids to pass along to the factory.
They wouldn't spend the money on washes. They won't even spend money on red or yellow paint at this point. Anything supposed to be red is day-glow orange and the yellows are actually neon green.

Yea we all have fond memories of day-glow-orange red lantern Guy.

I did use both techniques on Hulk, but I don't always. I didn't dry brush my surfer as I liked him a little darker anyway. I did dry brush gold/orange on his hand and sides for the energy though.

Do you just leave the eyes black? I always seem to have problems making eyes look the way they should. Any tips?
For eye's on this scale I suggest taking a brush you don't need and cutting all but ONE bristle off or just using the sharp end of a pin. In the case of Hulk, I did just leave the eyes black as it makes him look more pi$$ed off. But I did give Thanos red eyes and repainted Galactus's eyes as they got blacked out in the wash.
Great Tutorials! My wash style is a bit different, but I like the ease of what you have here - no time lapse in the video means that the viewer realizes it doesn't take much time at all.

Looking forward to more!
To be honest, this is not my "normal" paint style either as it is relatively simple. But that's just it, I just wanted to show how quickly and easily it could be done by anyone.
Hey I just wanted to say that I tried it out today and it worked out preety good for a guy with ZERO artistic skill, I will say it does wonders for IH Red Hulk deffently would recomend it to anyone who liked the old Red Hulk sculpt better. Also my buddy is gonna try it out on Giganto I have no idea if it will turn out well but we shall see.

Awesome, I'm glad it worked out for you. Also, as Giganto is so light, I'd use a dark/hunter green rather than a black first. Then you can still use black if you feel the need.
