I'm slapping my forehead a lot tonight; can't seem to find what I know is here. Did a search on wildcard TA but I must be blind tonight. One of my regular players is asking me if this is legal regarding GG 036 Silver Surfer's trait:

DEFENDERS, RIDE WITH ME: Silver Surfer may carry up to two single-base characters regardless of their combat symbols or possessing Battle Fury. When Silver Surfer carries only characters with the Defenders keyword or team ability, modify his speed value by +2.

If a character has the wildcard TA and copies the Defenders TA does he qualify to be carried? For some reason I cannot recall how this works.

By the wording of the Special Power, I'd say they have to possess the TA, not just be able to copy it.

No. A wildcard only uses the TA; you have to actually possess the TA (or as the trait reads, be a character with the TA).

That's kind of what I thought. The way I understand it, Wildcard TA allows the user to copy the other TA but does not possess the TA. And the way the SS special reads, it sound like you have to possess the Defenders TA for him to use it.

Unless an orange says otherwise, this is what I thought I would have to rule.
