Has anyone else gotten this game or plan on playing it?
I was expecting to buy this game, but once I saw a commercial for it after work showing Cyborg, it was "gotta have it now!"
So I popped on over to the Gamestop and bought a copy for the Wii. If you've played the first one, you know what to expect in terms of gameplay. Luckily they've made the vehicle missions part of regular missions, but usually in the style of rail shooters.
I just had to play through the first 3-4 missions tonight to get to the Superman part. Boy is he fun to play with in a Lego game. I was also excited to see more non-Gotham villains outside of Lex Luthor, namely a Flash rogue in his more modern outfit (not Captain Cold either).
Anyways, I expect to have more fun playing it throughout the week, as they give you a ton to collect in this one, especially with an open world between missions that you can explore.
It's pretty sweet. Nothing over complex or deep, but it's a Lego game, and also a decent game featuring the DC heroes. I just can't wait to get to Aquaman & Cyborg.
There's also voiceovers this time, and some of them are from previous incarnations, including Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and Tara Strong as Harley Quinn. The story is decent, and the humor's definitely still there, just no longer limited to grunts and sound effects.
The costumes for Batman and Robin have changed around this game, so you don't have to worry about a repeat performance there outside of Robin's magnetic suit, which actually does a little bit more this time around.
To wrap it up, if you enjoy the callouses of DC's Batman: the Brave and the Bold, or you enjoy superhero co-ops, or the Lego games, I suggest checking this one out.

I'm sorry, but flying around as Superman with the John Williams Superman theme playing as you fly is one of the coolest things ever.
Definitely, especially when he gets the smoky burst around him as you're zipping around Gotham.
Kind of peeved some characters are exclusive to downloads or codes since I don't connect online with the Wii. If they come out with some generic codes, I'd love getting those characters like Black Adam & Bizarro.
I started to open up the other rally points after beating the main story which allows you to fight other villains and buy them for your collection. General Zod made it in the game, so there's that.

The Xbox version is also in HD, whereas the Wii version is not. There's no reported differences in the gameplay or story, but I'm unaware if the Xbox version has DLC for characters that don't come with the game, like Black Adam.
Tonight I got more gold bricks and free played a couple levels and noticed there are some must-haves for the free play-
The last two are the toughest to get, but both have a sonic scream that allows you to break glass if you can't access that certain bat suit. You have to have at least 100 gold bricks (not sure how many exactly) to be able to purchase Black Canary.
I love flying around as Superman and finding the gold brick hidden on top of the building that has to be unlocked by one the Batman/Robin suits, following the path of bits down to the bottom to the suit, then going all the way back up in the suit to get the gold brick.
Biggest improvement in the game? Being able to access any unlocked character in free play.
I was really hoping Deadshot would have made this game's character list so I could've run him with Digger for a Suicide Squad team. I do like using Robin & Cyborg for a Teen Titans team-up.

I did some levels as Zod. When he beat Scarecrow, i couldn't resist a good "Kneel Before Zod". Sinestro/Zod team up is pretty fun too!
I only have to unlock Supergirl now and i'll have all the characters done. I'm a little disappointed in GL and Sinestro... they have no projectile? Can't they shoot beams? But that's a minor quibble really
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing

I'm kind of peeved Martian Manhunter can't turn invisible since the game mechanic's there with the Batman suit, but other than that I'm where you are. 25 gold bricks left from missions/ gotham.
I was also disappointed by the lack of attack construct from GL, but the other abilities in the game are nice. They made Aquaman super-effective in this game.

Unlocked Supergirl. Unfortunately no Superman theme when she flies around, but at least with her and Brainiac I can imagine I'm running a Legion team, even if it's B5's ancestor.
Only thing I haven't gotten in the game is the Two-Face goon.
The create-a-character dept. in this game seems lacking in the sequel compared to the first one, at least on Wii. They give you more slots to make characters, and those extra slots are due to the types of guns. Unfortunately they don't give you as much variety in hair or clothing as they did in the first one, or even secret characters to put together like the first one did with Azrael & Spoiler. Oh well, the open world and Superman made up for a lot of the game's shortcomings. Will still play this with friends.
