Hey Orangies/Purps!! With the upcoming IG Month 8 event I wanted to clarify something.

I am running that event as "all game elements" and not just "characters"...in regards to what can be used.

In other words "all game elements must come from GG, Chaos War and Hulk".

So, I don't think so but, do ATA's belong to any one set in particular? I know they come out with certain sets but I see no set stipulation on the ATA's themself so...THANKS!

Are they subject to retirement (as an offshoot of the main question)?

ATAs do not belong to any set. Their cards do not have a set symbol, and unlike feats, objects, and BFCs, the PG does not list a set for ATAs.

In addition, the following sentence is in the comprehensive tournament rules, section 2.2: "Alternate Team Ability cards are permitted in Modern Age events regardless of the set they were originally printed."

No, ATAs do not belong to any specific set. This was a conscious decision so that they wouldn't go through Golden Age/retirement.
