I started playing heroclix because my gaming group wanted to try it out. I have now discovered a love for comics. I just got done reading the civil war story line any suggestions on where to go from there?

I am already planning on reading Invincible Iron man and Avengers the Initiative. Are there any other series that go along with these? For more info Iron man and thor are my favorite heros atm and I absolutely hate reed richards so no FF4 stuff unless it focuses on Grimm

P.S. Also which should i read first Avengers or Iron man or are they separate cannons?

Its not Avengers, but you should read Uncanny X-Force: The Dark Angel Saga.
Its probably the best thing to come out of marvel in years.

Some great Thor stories came out of JMS's run on Thor from 2009 leading in to Siege. The titles and ISBN# for each are:

Those are part of the arc that made me a huge fan of Thor. Also check out Thor: Disassembled, it's a great Ragnarok story that leads into JMS's run.

Welcome "to" the Realms Comics.

It was Heroclix that got me back into reading comics too. Although I'm more into DC now. Loving Batman, Catwoman and Suicide Squad.

Just reading last month's issue, I just realized the perfect DC comic for a gamer - Demon Knights.

It's like Paul Cornell made a D&D scenario using certain DC immortals and other characters of historical mythology and translated it into a comic. Vandal Savage even comes off like the meathead who fields the tank character.

Demon Knights is an awesome swords and sorcery book. The first trade should be out soon, it reads like the Seven Samurai or Magnificent Seven (for Western fans). Savage is currently my favorite character in the book.

The best Thor stuff is Walter Simonson's Essential Thor vol 1-3 (vol 4 is okay, but only if you have really come to love Thor comics). Also, once you cut your teeth and are hungry for more Thor, the early Lee/Kirby Thor stuff is great. Thor vs Galactus and Thor wins? Marvel has massively depowered Thor over the years, and these old stories prove it (Thor was Marvel's answer to a pre-crisis Superman, and he'd pull crazy carp out of his hat all the time like Superman, fun to read stuff).

Personally, some of the best Ironman stuff involves Micheline and Layton. Armor Wars I in particular is just a fun Iron Man read.

For Avengers, Busieks run is pretty good stuff.
