I still don't think the Lakers are gonna win a championship in the next 3 years with him though.
I don't think he gets the Lakers past the Thunder. I think the Lakers, IF the make it out of the West, will handle any team in the East (including the Heat) however.

I agree, I think the Thunder will be strong for awhile.
Here I was getting all ready for football season and now I just want it to be basketball season again with all these crazy trades and signings!

im very saddened to see Nash going to LA. being a Mavs fan It is hard seeing a former Mav go to a team I despise so much. It would only have been worse had he gone to the Heat.

The fact that Phoenix drafted a PG and arranged meetings with Eric Gordon, Goran Dragic, and Raymond Felton left little doubt in my mind that Nash wouldn't be in an orange and purple jersey next year. I did NOT see this coming though and I would've preferred for him to end up anywhere else (except Miami). I was personally hoping for a sign-and-trade deal with the Knicks, it would've been amazing to see Nash and Amare re-united (and even better if D'Antoni was still there).

Very interesting! That's a great pickup, probably the next best thing to acquiring Nash. Hopefully he can smooth out some of the clunkiness in that offense.

And no one thought the Heat could handle the Thunder in the Finals.
I hate to see teams building an all-star cast like this. This is why the NBA needed to push for a hard cap like the NHL and NFL have. The Celtics and Heat won titles this way, and the Knicks try but they are terrible at it. I would rather see the stars spread out around the league than see everyone on six or so teams.
The good news for people like me that hate the Lakers is that Kobe likes to have the ball in his hands way too much for Nash to be allowed to do what he does.
I have to say with Kidd going to the Knicks and Terry heading out as well what we will do at PG and for depth at the gaurd positions period.
The Mavs better have something planned or our back court that used to be great is going to suffer.
The Knicks will match. The thing with Lin is while you're likely to overpay him (from a strictly basketball standpoint), what he earns you back in marketing to Asian markets means you are actually underpaying him from the revenue streams that he will bring in. 4y/30m is a drop to the 300m+ he'll make you back in the same time frame.
If you let them kill your dreams, it'll haunt you.

That was actually the first thing that popped into my head when that deal was announced. How can 2 people hold the ball at the same time? Haha.

It must be weird to pay so much for someone you let go for free. I wonder what happens to Houston if NY decides to match their offer to Lin.
EDIT: Which like Kontrol said, they probably will.
