Ok, I am officially pissed at CP and thier prices. I recieved a package from the US, a small 4x4x4 cardboard box. US postage cost on the box is showing $3.45. that SAME box resent to the States? $17.85 cheapest way.

anyone else getting tired of the price gouging?

I use the 6x6x6 boxes you can buy at the post office. Even with 6-7 clix in it, it doesn't usually cost more than $12. And that is Airmail with a 9-10 business day arrival time to the USA.

Also the US postal system is damn near bankrupt most of the time. Eventually someone will notice this and they will up there costs. If they don't look for USPS to be gone in the next 5 years. And you don't want to see what the private companies taking over will do.

Unfortunately it isn't price gouging, it is the cost of running a business that doesn't lose money.

From what I understand UPS already has a bigger market share than the USPS. Their prices are outrageous......

Anyway coad, where are you shipping from ? Here in Victoria BC, it's $6.00 for Surface to the US, and $7.00 for Airmail (for a 'standard' box that would hold up to 20 or so clix in it). Almost $18.00, that's absurd.

Yeah, it's almost cheaper to send it through the couriers. (and sometimes is)

The 4x4x4 boxes cost more to send. I sent in some figures for replacement and had to put the little box in a bigger box to get a cheaper price. I think it was about $6 to the US from CP and I live in central BC.

BAH! I got sent a 5x4 box of Clix via UPS. Cost them $35 to send, and me $20 COD to recieve. THAT'S a price gouge!

Something seems wrong there. Who was dumb enough to ship UPS when USPS would've cost about $4 and arrived in about a week. I always tell Americans shipping to me if it is costing them more and a few dollars there is something wrong and to ask questions.

Hell, I went with FedEx, and it still cost me $40.

I did Overnight Express. I don't make the person I'm trading with wait. Builds trust.

Shipped a couple packages today. One had 2 clix the other 3. Both cost about $7.50 for air arrival time about a week, the standard, but now with no insurance. To get insurance it now costs almost $15, but can apparently be tracked in the US now.

I've had to ship a few things out using the new postage. I pay about $17 for a fairly heavy package and it is tracked and insured. takes about 4-5 days to get there.

Yeah, the 4x4x4 boxes that are shipped TO ME are deemed too small for small package air. So that would be the issue others have mentioned. As Icextremes said to me one day, just keep your booster boxes and ship in those. No issue when using them.

As long as one of the 3 dimensions is 5" they should take it.

"Should" is the relative part of that. The thing I forgot to mention, and maybe it's just around here, is that your mileage may vary depending on who's behind the counter.
