OK, colour me lazy. I don't want to go through all the thread dedicated to that power to check wether I'm right or wrong.
That being said, my question is simple.
First a reminder :
Quote
TELEPORT MY GREATEST ENEMIES: Thanos can use Plasticity. Give Thanos a power action and place the two highest point value target opposing characters in squares adjacent to Thanos.
Now the question.
Thanos has NO choice. He HAS to teleport the two highest point value target. So I wonder : What happens if there are more than two ?
My answer to this was : he cannot use this power at all.
Because unlike characters like Richard Fisk, his SP doesn't say "choose". He has to teleport two characters (that has been ruled, for sure) and they have to be the highest costing characters around.
So to me, if a team is made of three equal cost characters, Tnanos power is useless. Any combination other than "two characters cost more than any other characters in your team ? He can teleport those, and nobody else."
Was I wrong to rule that way ?
Just a few examples to make my point clearer :
- My team is made of three 100 points characters and a bunch of loosers costing less. Thanos cannot teleport anybdy, because he cannot choose which two among the three he can teleport (his power doesn't allow him too)
- My team is made of 1 tentpole, two characters costing exactly the same and maybe a bunch of other, costing even less. Once again Thanos cannot choose, so he cannot use his power.
- My team is made of character all with a different cost (or at least the two bigger one), then Thanos can use his SP against those two.
Please correct me if I was wrong.
You know everyone loves to be the villain. Hugh Grant
But you are on the correct line of thinking. He has to take the two highest point characters so if one is not available (say Flash is off the board, or one is chilling in the bat mobile, or one of them is KO'd) the effect cannot be sed.
wait...if one is KO'ed? That doesn't sound right to me.....is that right?
Well, there was a question on that. Even if KO'd or otherwise off the board they are still opposing characters. I doubt the intent is for KO'd figures to count, but if they don't we need some kind of clarification or errata to explain why Flashpoint Flash would since in both cases they are opposing figures off the board. I know this question was raised, I thought the Chevaliers du Rules were discussing this and perhaps checking with GD but we never saw a definitive answer.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
