If I start with the following team.
Hawkeye 98
Mockingbird 25
Mockingbird 25
Hawkingbird Duo 148
I split my duo into Hawkeye and Mockingbird at 25. Can I merge with any of the other 25 point Mockingbird or only the one from the initial split?
Only the one from the original split... Any other merge would have to be more points then the duo.

Actually it wouldn't be the exact number of points. Mockingbird 25, Mockingbird 25, and Hawkeye 98 = 148.
First, he was listing figures that are part of his team.
Second, you could not use 2 Mockingbirds in Merge/Split.

Despite being the same character, I think the Split/Merge mechanics would differentiate between which Mockingbird was originally split from and you would not be able to merge back with the others.

I asked a similar question yesterday that almost came up in IG8 but didn't get an answer.
Here's the situation. The player starts with CW Ironman, Cap, Thor, Donald Blake and Sharon Carter with Avengers Prime on the sideboard. First turn he merges into Prime, next turn he splits. I KO Thor. He AE's into the same Thor with Donald Blake. He cannot merge into Avengers Prime again with Cap, Ironman and Thor AE can he?
Even though it's the same physical Thor, it's not the same piece and the point level would be the AE level. The only thing that throws me a bit is that I know if you merged or split previously it allows the points stipulation to be changed, though I don't think it matters in this case (it would matter in a split in this case, not a merge). Thanks.
wasn't already cleared that you can merge figure with a total inferior to the duo\trio figure only if they were the ones coming from a previous split of that exact duo\trio figure?
if all the figures doesn't come from the split then they must met the duo\trio figure points (equal or more) prerequisite to do the merge
A game effect that applies to that character applies only to that character, not to other copies of that character, even copies that happen use the same real life physical figure.
The original question - The merge has to be with the actual Mockingbird that was split into, not just any copy of the mockingbird figure.
---
The Avengers Prime question:
The Thor that was part of the split was KO'd. He is no longer part of the game. Another copy of Thor brought into the game isn't being affected by the rule that would allow him to be merged back into Prime despite point costs, so he can't be, unless he meets the requirements some other way.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but just wanted to make sure.
The combined point value of the qualifying characters must be equal to or greater than the point value of the Duo character (unless the Duo character previously used the Split ability to be replaced by these same characters).(pg2012)
As they are...technically.. different characters.. the 2 spare mockingbirds wouldn't qualify.
but... if you played your mocking birds at there 50 point line, you can split into your 50 and keep going to town.
98+50=148
....The most confusing thing is the thing you are confused about....

But since you now have to declare your sideboard when you present your team, you couldn't AE into the exact same copy of Thor, since he was not on your sideboard to begin with.

Characters on your force that are KO'd can be used as replacements. They don't need to be listed separately as both on your force and as part of your sideboard.

You sure? I thought I saw an Orange say it was okay to AE into a figure that started on your force (not the sideboard) but was KO'ed.
I wasn't the one doing it, and I allowed it. I don't see why you couldn't.
Meh. I think it's more cheap than an awesome idea. I rarely complain about cheese, but at best I think they should have made you merge into a duo at the highest click of the mergers plus half the clicks of difference between the figures.
Like if Doom is at click 7 and Kang is at click 1, if you merged into Doom Kang it would be at click 4 [Click 1 + (7-1)/2]. A little more arithmetic, but much more fair and makes much more sense.
It's even more ridiculous with Avengers Prime. In my case, I hit Thor for 8 penetrating. It didn't KO him, and he almost morphed into Avengers Prime to heal up to full health. I think that's garbage imo.
