Here we are with a fresh game courtesy of myself and Gargantua.

We've taken the DC and Marvel universes and plopped them in the United States during the Civil War.

Our focus here, as much as to play the game itself, is to see how that world might look with the emergence of superpowers overlapping it. We both plan vivid story posts to get a feel for the time and the characters we choose. How does Oliver Queen work in this era? Hank Pym?

We also will include Generals and perhaps Presidents (in the last game). Generals can be captured and thus ending a battle. Generals can use leadership but with a twist: with a roll of 5 or 6 we can add an action and also remove an action token from any figure on board.

A few more things. We each get a character who appears in each game, our time traveler. Even if he's koed in game 1, he still appears in full health in game 2. I get Kang Supernova Rookie with protected, Gargantua chose Rip Hunter.

Each battle will consist of 800-850 in points as we predrafted 2500.

"Mr. Reynolds. How may I help you?".

"Richards, actually. And you are Dr. Strange, correct?".

"Indeed, and I am a very busy doctor indeed. May this be quick?".

"Actually, yes." Richards hands over a paper.

"What is this? President Lincoln is asking me to battle alongside you? I'm no soldier."

"Healers and just as important. Although you are far more than that."

"I am a former surgeon, nothing more."

"The letters grants me others. Wanda Maximoff, your apprentice...".

"Assistant."

"Whatever you say. I hear the both of you do a great deal of healing without doing any doctoring. It's almost like your mere presence affects the soldiers."

"You heard incorrectly. We give medicines, apply bandages. But make no mistake, healing is more than surgery."

"Why doctor, you make science sound like magic."

Doctor Strange pauses. "I see you also want Dr. Donald Blake and nurse Jane Foster. Two of our very best."

"I'm sure of it. And I say that more you ever you may know. So, good Doctor, I have the Presidents blessings, nay command. You won't let him down, will you?".

Washington, D.C.

"Here's your coffee, Mr. President."

"Thank you," he says, graciously taking it.

"So what did McClellan say when you dismissed him?" Secretary of State Seward asks.

"The parts I can repeat," Lincoln jokes, "Suggest that he may be a better President than I. And I replied that may be the case but that if he was as tentative at running for the job as he was as General but I should have much to fear if he runs....in 1880!".

Hahahha!.

"Well General Hooker should do well but tell me," Seward says, "I understand you've put all of your efforts to back Nathaniel Richards. Do you trust the man, now?".

"There are few that I trust," Lincoln says, "And many I distrust. Consider him the crowded King of that latter group."

"You're tab is running high, Samuel."

"Then put it on mine, Jeremiah," John Wilkes Booth says entering the bar.

"John! Where you been? It's been months," Samuel Arnold and Michael O'Laughlen say.

"Ah, the life of an actor. Did you hear about Simon?" he asks.

"Run over by a stagecoach? His head and limbs torn off up in Boston! Horrible!".

"It was. So much for the acting team of Simon Williams and John Wilkes-Booth. Get me one of those drinks, Jeremiah."

"How's the war down here?" John asks.

"Worse than you hear."

"I doubt it. I heard that bastard Lincoln has men with chainmail metal suits and jet packs to fly."

"This impossible!" says one.

"That's dirty pool!" the other says.

"Someone ought to do something about that bastard Lincoln," Booth says swigging his whiskey as an idea hatches right there.

“Letter for you,” Bart ran up to Connor Queen and handed him the envelope.

“What is it?” his brother Roy asked looking over his shoulder.

“Gimme a minute. I gotta read it first.” Connor pushed him away.

“Uh oh. If you’ve gotta read, it’s gonna take more’n a minute.”

“Shut up!” Conner snapped.

Roy prepared to needle him further, but he saw his brother’s face change suddenly. “Connor? What is it?”

“It’s...Oh God, Roy. Ma and Pa, and Mia too. They were all at that battle in Antietam. They’re all three...dead.”

“Yankee bastards!” Roy raged, grabbing his bow. “I’ll kill ‘em all!”

“Easy there, son. You’ll have your chance in a few hours.” A pair of officers had been walking by and overheard their conversation.

“Major Wayne? Sorry, sir. I was...” Roy began to apologize.

“No apology is necessary. I heard the news. You boys have my condolences,” the officer told them. “Just watch your anger. Take strength from it, but don’t let it take over completely in the battle.”

“You’re wrong, Major. In battle, you have to give in entirely to the anger and hate. It is the only way to completely dominate your enemies,” the other officer told him as the walked away from the enlisted men on their way to a meeting with General Jackson.

“Do you really believe that, Colonel Savage?”

“Of course. You were born a pampered plantation boy. I’ve been in more battles than you’ve rolled slave girls.” He laughed, a harsh sound. It suited him. Colonel Vandal Savage was a large man, and seemed ready to burst the seams of his uniform. It suited him ill. He looked like he’d be more at home in animal skins, like some caveman. His laughter was cut short as Wayne smacked his across the face with his gloves.

“My honor demands that you retract that statement!” Wayne said.

“You don’t want to go there,” Savage warned him.

“Sir,” Wayne’s previously silent manservant laid a hand on his master’s arm and whispered in his ear. “I have to caution you. You don’t want your...secret coming out.”

“What in damnation is going on here?” General Stonewall Jackson roared. “You two stop it this instant. That’s an order. I will not have my officers engaging in petty duels on the eve of a battle!”

“Yes, sir,” Wayne saluted, grateful for the graceful exit from the situation.

“Now get in my tent. I’ll be in in a moment,”

“This isn’t over, Wayne,” Savage snarled as they both went into the tent.

“That was quite a show,” Al Pratt said to Bart. “But I’ll bet I could take either of ‘em in a fight.” He was a short man, but had arms the size of saplings.

“I’ll bet you could fight ‘em both together! You’ve had enough experience getting into scraps!” Bart laughed, then ran off to his other duties before Al could take offense.

“Gentleman,” General Jackson said entering the tent to address his officers. “May I introduce Rip Hunter?”

“Thank you , general. And this is my associate Michael Carter.”

“And who’s the man in the metal mask?” Savage asked.

“I’m Wesley Dodds. I’ve got an invention that I think may turn the tide. It’s a gun that can shoot a gas that will put people to sleep. We can beat the enemy without killing them.”

Savage laughed. “Put them to sleep? Who are you, the Sandman? Why would we not want to kill them?”

“Colonel Savage, control yourself!” Jackson snapped. “And this is Maxwell Lord.” A dandy in civilian clothes stood up from his spot in the corner, tipping his hat. “He is with military intelligence.”

“And who is the charming lady next to him?” Bruce Wayne asked.

“May I present Miss Selena Kyle?” Max Lord said.

“You certainly may,” Bruce smiled at her. She smiled back flirtatiously.

“If we can get back to business,” Jackson said. “Mr. Hunter has a surprise for us.”

“The Union has been experimenting with modern versions of suits of armor. We’ve gone them one better. An entirely mechanical man, courtesy of Lex Luthor.” He pulled a sheet off of a tall item to reveal a gleaming bronze statue. Then to everyone’s amazement, the statue began to move.

"Miss Kyle," Bruce Wayne pulled her aside quickly after the meeting.

"Major...Wayne, was it? A pleasure to meet you, sir."

"You're mistaken. We've met before."

"Oh?"

"At the cotillion at the Cobblepots', in June 1860."

"Why, Major Wayne, your powers of recollection are very impressive. Or should I be flattered that you remembered me?"

"It was an eventful night," Bruce said. "Mrs. Cobblepot had some of her jewelry stolen."

"Oh! That's right! I do remember that. Terrible, terrible. The poor woman."

"Quite," Bruce said. "I can't help but notice, that necklace you're wearing. It is very like one of the ones that Mrs. Cobblepot lost that night."

"What? This old thing?" Selina laughed nervously.

"That exact thing, Miss Kyle."

"Selina? Oh! There you are," Maxwell Lord interrupted them. "Come now Miss Kyle, I know that you tend to not stay with the same beau for very long, but I was hoping I'd have you for more than a day and a half."

"My apologies, Major. We shall have to pick up our little discussion at another time." She walked away on Lord's arm. "Max!" she stopped in alarm a few moments later. "Your nose."

"Yes, an unfortunate side effect. But we couldn't have Major Wayne revealing your little secret now, could we, Miss Kyle. Don't worry. He will have quite forgotten it."

"You know?" she paled.

"I know quite a bit," he said. "After Miss Gordon was so unfortunately captured at Antietam, I've taken it upon myself to pick up her, ah, network. And someone with your particular talents could be a very useful agent to me. Unless you'd rather spend a few years in prison for burglary?"

"Do go on, Mr. Lord. I'm listening," Selina said.

I overdid the objects, which I'm glad to reduce. Let me know. I'd almost prefer not to have the extras, it blocks up the map and you already have enough stealth.

"Hahaha!" he laughs, "First Lincoln tells me to win this battle, then you ask me to trust a total stranger who seems to have the Presidents ear. You may as well ask for the world."

"Banner's a scientist. Studied gamma radiation. One of his experiments went awry, killed his wife. Would have killed Banner too if Ol' Thunderbolt Ross didn't pull him out of the house," says Jack Flag, "Heard there was enough radiation to kill a dozen horses."

"That's awful," Wanda Maximoff says, "Poor men!".

Behind her a man moves as silently as he can.

"Oh!" Wanda says startled.

"My apologies," he says.

"And who are you?" she asks.

"No one of concern," he says, moving away.

"Who was that?" Wanda asks.

"An actor," Jack Flag, "Come here and I'll tell you."

"I guess we know who the troop gossip is," Steve says.

"Yeah, boo!" he says, "Now be quiet....I can't hear him....".

Bart goes HSS, runs to Q15, attacks Punisher. You say IH version of Punisher, which doesn't narrow it down much , But only 2 of the 4 start with Stealth, and both have 17DV and Toughness. AV10 on DV17. Gets 2. Rip Makes it 3. Sandman makes it 3. Really? Bart ends M14.
