Looking for people to play Heroclix with (New York)
Hey all, I'm new to posting on the forums (obviously), and fairly new to the game (only been playing for about two months), but I'm striving to improve and looking for other, like minded players to improve with. I live in Manhattan, New York, and already have a few friends that I play with, but the more the merrier, you know?
Any way, if any one is interested, hit me up and hopefully we can get together for some games.
you could go to the wizkids website and find a venue that sells locally. See if they have tourneys and what not. thats how I made most of the friends I play clix with.

The only problem is there are a lot of venues that do not use that system, sadly.
Thanks for the replies, guys. Yeah, there's a venue in my area called Complete Strategist that I go to from time to time to make purchases, but I haven't met any one who plays Heroclix there yet, and while they run tournaments every other Saturday, I haven't attended yet as I want to improve before I give a tournament a shot.
I would definitely love to play you Owlman! That zombie Batman is pretty cool, so's Superman, who I was lucky enough to pull. Too bad there's no free Heroclix simulator that we could play on, like a few other games have.

Honestly, playing in the tournaments IS the best way to improve.
I'm pretty sure that venue is run by the HCR poster Hellboy, and some other prominent members, like TK1174 and uroboros, play there. Those guys could really teach you pretty well.
Provided that both of you have the same maps there is always play by chat you can always do. I have played that way with a friend of mine who lives in OH since I live in TX.
Good luck and welcome to the game. Tournaments are the best place to play. I have been playing since inception and didn't really start playing tournaments until Fantastic Forces (and that was once every other month or so). Then I found a closer venue around Sinister and all that played there were judges from other venues. Got handed every time but to me better competition means better strategies for me to learn. I like playing new people to help them learn and I like playing the stronger players to make myself better. Gotta take my lumps to make myself better. So, my advice. Go sit in a tournament and see if that's what you want. Or you could just jump in the deep end play. Anyway like I said good luck and welcome.

Thanks for the words. You and Harpua are certainly right; the best way for me to learn and improve is to jump right in. But, you know, it can be overwhelming in the beginning. I'll definitely do that though. I just really like the idea of having a good number of people to play test with and have fun playing the game with. Hopefully, through the Realms, I can find that. And with any luck the people at my local will be cool, and I'll be able to be apart of a local community of Clixers. Guess that's what we all want in the end though, haha.
I would encourage you to stop by the Complete Strategist and play.
There is a really good mix of experienced and new players so a lot of people are in the same boat as you and just starting out.
Even if you just come by and meet people maybe next time you would feel more comfortable playing. Everyone at the venue is very nice.
Welcome aboard!

Hello Rich, thanks for the encouragement. I'm actually really excited to go to the Complete Strategist the next time there's a tournament. Last time I was there, the owner mentioned that whoever runs the tournaments there (Hellboy on here, I believe), was trying to get some casual games going during the week at the venue. Do you know if that ever panned out or any thing?
I have to say; being at the beginning stages of getting in to a brand new game that's as fun and exciting as Heroclix is an awesome feeling. Hopefully Complete Strategist will be a good place for me to learn the game and improve and continue to have a great time with the game I'm growing to love.
