The character that really cheesed me off in AvX is Cpt. Amercia.. he should really take lessons in diplomacy
Once again, a major event comic hits where characters are twisted into caricatures of themselves (see: Civil War).
Cyke had the right idea, but was utterly ham-handed about it. I mean, really, let Hope have the Phoenix Force, restore all mutants... which, um, was pretty much what ended up happening, right? And since when did Cap and the Avengers give a rat's ### about the Phoenix Force in the first place?
Also, I don't think they had to kill the Prof to get to that point, and having Scott do it was particularly silly. The death itself was pure laziness on the part of the writers, "Dur, we can't figure out how to use Professor X these days, so we just killed him off instead!"
Really, you can't figure out how to use one of the iconic characters of your own universe? Genuine Derp moment there, and a great example of why I stopped buying/reading comics. Blar.
(And really, reading Uncanny Avengers #1 preview online... the dialogue between Wanda and Rogue made me want to actually slap the former. Of course the X-Men have a martyr complex, Wanda, mainly because you did the whole "No More Mutants" thing, remember? At least Hal was repentant about the stuff he did, and he had more of an excuse thanks to Parallax!)

NOT the best crossover, much less company wide event.
I used to collect marvel, but too many crossovers made me switch to Ultraverse (yep it has been THAT long). Once I started getting into clix, I thought "hey, theres been some cool plots, check it out". AvX was Marvels chance to get me back as a reader, and they blew it.
On the other hand, I did discover some great DC titles that I am really enjoying so maybe I should say thank you to Marvel hehe.

When were Cap and the Avengers *supposed* to give a rat's ### about the Phoenix Force, other than the second time it comes to Earth?
As for aftermath, I don't understand the selectivity of the judgment of Marvel 'heroes'. After Fear Itself, the Grey Gargoyle was locked up for all the bad things he did while possessed. Yet I'd bet not even 1 second's thought was given to locking up Ben Grimm for the same reason. Yes, I know, Ben Grimm's a good guy. But isn't he just as responsible for acts during his possession as Grey Gargoyle?
And if Ben Grimm isn't responsible and doesn't deserve to be locked up, why is Cyclops under arrest? Why are the other four being hunted, along with Magneto, for whatever reason Magneto is included? Cyclops did nothing but oppose the Avengers, which I doubt is an actual crime in the MU, until he was possessed. Everything after that could be blamed on the influence of the Phoenix Force.

You forget, it was revealed that Wanda was in fact possessed when she did the whole "Disassembled" thing.

Opossing the Avengers IS the crime.
And that is in a nutshell the problem most people I know have with AvX.

Apparently it's been around quite a bit, and just because Beast left the phone off the hook the first time Dark Phoenix was around... you'd think they'd be more aware of these things.

Still doesn't change the fact that she didn't even pretend to feel bad about what happened while she was possessed.

Except this wasn't the second time...
Rachel was running around with it in her for awhile. Jean regained part of the Force and was using it for awhile during the whole X-Factors vs. Celestials bit. Then she reacquired part of it off-and-on depending on how up-to-date the writer was on X-Men continuity. So the Force has been floating around but the Avengers were off being Onslaughted, then Reborn, then Reassembled or...I dunno.
As for Cyke, as noted, where does the possession begin and the criminal act end? I've been a fan of his for years but, man, between Hank Pym and now Cyke being my "go-to guys" in the MU it's making it tough to justify my taste in heroes for the MU without having to explain "They aren't always like that!"
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Was it off the hook or was he just refusing to get out of the bath to answer it? I'm pretty sure the latter is worse. "Yes, I let a cosmic entity almost totally wipe us out because I was letting Calgon take me away."

Actually, Beast intentionally didn't answer the call on the monitor station because the X-Men were fighting the Hellfire Club at the time... and Beast didn't want to have Avengers v. X-Men happen back in the 70s.

I'll always like Cyclops. Now ask me if I like any of the people that have been writing him for several years.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
