I'm interested in seeing Shvaughn Erin on the list, but not seeing Element Lad.
Element Lad was suspected of being a homosexual character under original continuity, and that's a big reason why they brought in Science Police member Shvaughn Erin as a character in the series to court Element Lad.
It was actually under the "Five Years Later" run where the Lightning Lass/Shrinking Violet relationship came to fruition, and it's the same run where Shvaughn Erin was revealed to be actually a male who ran out of "Pro Fem" since it was no longer produced under a Dominator-ruled Earth. He revealed it to Element Lad in a letter, and Element Lad came back to him later on to reveal that it didn't matter than "Sean" Erin was a man.
With current continuity, the Lightning Lass/Shrinking Violet relationship did come back into play, but the Shvaughn Erin/Element Lad status never resolved the same way.

From Watchmen: Silhouette, Hooded Justice, Captain Metropolis, Ozymandias*
When Hercules "died," Northstar was identified as a previous lover.

* - The original miniseries didn't categorically say one way or the other, but the Before Watchmen: Ozymandias miniseries indicates that Adrian Veidt had both male and female lovers.
Do you just want superheroes, or are civilians okay too? Because then you can add Damon Matthews (from Manhunter), Terry Berg (from Green Lantern), Kyle Jinadu (from X-Men) and William Clockwell (from Invincible).
Well, if the likes of Shvaughn Erin & Renee Montoya are in the list, I believe that it's merely characters portrayed in the medium, not specifically superpowered heroes.
Shvaughn & Renee are more along the lines of law enforcement, but that makes them more of associative characters with the heroes/titles they're connected to.

Even though I know this list is primarily from superhero comics, I think Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World was popular enough that it might be worth mentioning Scott's roommate, Wallace Wells.
Kieran Culkin was a scene-stealer in the movie (as was the character in the comic). With the crazy sales that comic made, I think he certainly warrants potential inclusion.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.

Actually, nearly EVERYONE in Scott Pilgrim makes the list, with the exception of Scott himself. Scott's entire supporting cast with the exception of Young Neil is gay or bi.

If you don't count Renee as a super hero, you don't count Batman.

Ok, then Shvaughn Erin is still a supporting cast member in the Legion books. I'll agree to lump Renee in with the superheroes since post-Infinite Crisis and pre-nu52 she was the Question, but Shvaughn still stands.
