Hello one and all, welcome to another flyingicarus & Gargantua production.
In honor of the upcoming Batman sets we're playing four 1000 point game using (mostly) figures from the new sets. Each game will have 1000 points in characters, 7 of the 8 on board will be from the new sets.
Going a bit differently with this we're playing for points in these games. Each koed figure is worth 1/10 of its cost. For example koing the Caped Crusader from this set at 139 points nets you 14 points rounded up.
There will be two options for using these points. First, to be done at the beginning of any turn we can 'unlock' a character. This figure does not count towards our total. We are discounting this unlockable figures who will be older pieces but Batman related. In game one the unlocked opportunities are three times one at 25, 50 and 75 points. As an example one might offer Hypertimes' Dr. Harleen Quinzel for 25 points (this is all opponent driven). During each game you have to unlock all characters or continue to unlock them in the next game. Game two starts the unlocked values at 50, 75 and 100 and so on....
The other way to use points is at the beginning of each game. At that time you choose your 1000 points in characters for that game. You may also use the points earned to 'upgrade' a character. If you begin game one with Batman 1R at 100 points, you can trade him in for the 200 point version by keeping the original in your draft and using 100 upgrade points. You can also use these points for feats, utility belts, relics/resources and vehicles.

I roll a 10 for map choice. Not a foregone conclusion, but since it gives me a fairly good chance, I'll say if I win, I'll take the thematically appropriate Gotham Rooftops :
Is it me, or have they added a lot more maps? This one looks like there should be some special rules for the spaces between the buildings. We can either ignore them or make something up.
"It is not a very big turnout," El Gaucho admitted.
"The others are coming," Batman said grimly.
"I hope so, for your sake, handsome," Catwoman said, swinging down to the roof.
"You always associate with criminals?" Grifter asked.
"Your own past isn't spotless," Batman pointed out.
"So are you going to tell us what this is all about?" Catwoman said. "And what is that...thing?"
"He's called the Composite Superman, and for tonight, I will vouch for him. As for why, there is another man out there calling himself Batman. I take exception to that."
"Is it Jason? Azrael? It's not Dick is it?" Batgirl asked.
"Definitely not Dick. As for the others, well that's what we need to find out."
"So, the great detective is stymied, and you feel, what? Intimidated? Jealous?...at this person who is attempting to appropriate your split identity. Tell me Batman, how does this make you feel?" Professor Hugo Strange stepped from the shadows, with a couple of bodyguards.
"Say the word Batman, and I'll mop the floor with the creep," Batgirl said.
"Stand down, Batgirl. He's here at my sufferance. His skills may help in profiling our impostor. But I warn you, Strange," Batman turned to the criminal psychiatrist, "you will behave yourself or you will be very sorry."
"Oh of course, of course," Strange said. "Bullying and intimidation. Classic signs of the insecure personality," He added under his breath.
I propose that figures without flight not be able to stop moving in the gaps between buildings. They're close enough they can jump them, but they can't stand in mid-air.
Hugo Strange will be the Goons' Boss.

I'm thinking this is going to be a weird game with so much stealth. I foresee a slow moving chess match kind of thing, but maybe I could be wrong.
Re: Batman and the Bats. I don't see where Batman can bring in Bats from outside the game. If they're in play, and adjacent to Batman, he can attach them to his base for free, and then he gets to use their SP, but he can't summon them out of nowhere. But if I'm missing something (entirely possible) let me know.
"Observe how he moves," Hugo Strange pointed out. "He's like a grandmaster at chess. He uses his pawns to draw out his opponents stronger pieces, every move a calculated gambit. Each risk offset by a potentially greater return. If this 'other Batman' truly has the same modus operandi, we are in for quite the intellectual spectator sport."
"Chess? That's the one that's like checkers, but with the funny looking pieces," Murray showed off his knowledge. "I like the one that looks like a horsey."
