Ok, first off, I love Spider-man (Peter Parker version). I haven't been able to buy many comics lately thanks to mortgages and college payments. I've missed the last 10-15 years of Spidey books.

Can anyone please help me out with a chronological list of important to read Spidey trade paperbacks worth picking up?
I don't mind reading about the other guys carrying the Spidey name as long as the books are worth reading. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you just want to read Spider-man or are you trying to get caught up on story? They are changing Amazing Spider-man into Superior Spider-man which I believe is a bit of a reboot.

The birth of the new Venom can be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man #654.1 in February 2011 On January 28, 2011, the identity of "black ops" Venom was revealed to be Flash Thompson.Flash is hired by the government to be a special agent wearing the Venom symbiote. Flash is only allowed to wear the suit for up to 48 hours, or risk a permanent bonding with the symbiote. The Government is also equipped with a "kill switch" designed to take Flash out if he loses control. Along with the alien, Flash is equipped with a "Multi-Gun" designed to change into any type of gun Flash needs. Flash has battled Jack-o-Lantern, fought to stop Anti-Vibranium, and fought Kraven the Hunter in the Savage Land.
Venom now has his own on going series which is AWESOME

@Wade Wilson I'm interested in Spider-man mainly but I'll read just about anything that's important to or ties into the Spider-man world. As long as its relevant and a good story, I'm down to read it.

Most of the interesting Spidey stuff has happened within the past two years. I would start at Big Time (Issue #648) and just continue with the main line of Amazing Spiderman up to the current issues. Everything else from the past 15 years can be summed up in a couple of paragraphs by anyone on this forum.

Avening Spider-Man is an ongoing serie, which doesn't really refer alot to major marvel events except the part when spider-man is in the avenegers. It's a REALLY great comic.

And it was started at #1 and I dont think its too far along around issue #9 or so. Basically Spidy was teaming up with another character each book, I read a couple, but I wasnt too in to it...but I am also not a big Spiderman fan either, but I thought I would try it out and it just wasnt my thing.
