I can't see myself using the double power action outwit... It would be better if it let you cancel any power even on PC characters. Still though a decent and cheap rendition of gandolf.
It'll be nice for players to have an easily accessible and affordable Sir Ian (although note that the main set one is a common this time around), but unless the other Gandalf in this set has worthless numbers or a 200+ point pricetag I can't see myself ever wanting to use this version of Gandalf. The double power action trait really kill it; it's just too high a cost even for double outwit. This dial is just barely worth the points, but that's more than I can say for most dials in the starter.
Cheaper, but disappointing. I was very pleased with the LOTR starter when it came out. I am verrry underwhelmed by all the dials in this one. I will always pay the extra 41 points for the LOTR Gandalf the Grey over this one.
Hmm...I'm thinking if that were an Epic Action instead of a double power action it might be more useful...ignoring that...he's not too bad...Indomitable, outwit, decent stats...clearly no one's Gandalf of choice, unless its your only Gandalf that is.

He's similar to Common Dhalsim in terms of design, but the TA (Mystics) and SP thankfully make him a better deal. Traited "double Outwit" and single turn immunity to counter-based powers isn't a bad deal for 104 points.
Add the GF Gandalf and Calculator (AA) for a ZZ Top theme team (287 points)!
While he certainly is not as good as he could be or as good as a gandalf should be, he is pretty solid for the points. You just have to make use of the trait in the right moments. Indom, good stats and the mystics make him playable.
