Hello one and all, welcome to another flyingicarus & Gargantua production.
In honor of the upcoming Batman sets we're playing four 1000 point game using (mostly) figures from the new sets. Each game will have 1000 points in characters, 7 of the 8 on board will be from the new sets.
Going a bit differently with this we're playing for points in these games. Each koed figure is worth 1/10 of its cost. For example koing the Caped Crusader from this set at 139 points nets you 14 points rounded up.
There will be two options for using these points. First, to be done at the beginning of any turn we can 'unlock' a character. This figure does not count towards our total. We are discounting this unlockable figures who will be older pieces but Batman related. In game one the unlocked opportunities are three times one at 25, 50 and 75 points. As an example one might offer Hypertimes' Dr. Harleen Quinzel for 25 points (this is all opponent driven). During each game you have to unlock all characters or continue to unlock them in the next game. Game two starts the unlocked values at 50, 75 and 100 and so on....
The other way to use points is at the beginning of each game. At that time you choose your 1000 points in characters for that game. You may also use the points earned to 'upgrade' a character. If you begin game one with Batman 1R at 100 points, you can trade him in for the 200 point version by keeping the original in your draft and using 100 upgrade points. You can also use these points for feats, utility belts, relics/resources and vehicles.

Katana 76
Calendar Man 52
Geo-Force 157 (Alias)
Roy Raymond Jr 74
Halo 83 (Endurance)
Black Lightning 87 (806)
Wow, 200 point Bats already? Nowhere to upgrade to from there.
I was going to try the Utility Belt, but honestly, it was making my head swim. I'm all for having them add new mechanics to the game, but between the Infinity Gauntlet, Vehicles and now the Ultility Belt, it's like they're crazy overcomplicating everything. So I'm just going to let you break in the belt here. And I just used my points towards upgrading my Batman and adding a couple feats.
Bad Samaritan (Contingency Plan) 83
Mr. Unknown 50
Booster Gold 98
Nightwing (FFBM) 100

"Looks like the other Batman called in the Outsiders," Booster said.
"The Outsiders? Please," the Bad Samaritan scoffed. "They aspire to be Infinity, Inc."
"I remind you that you're here on sufferance," Batman told him.
"Don't underestimate the Outsiders," Nightwing said. "I've hung with them for a bit. They're better than you think."
"May I point out that you've got a fair chunk of the Justice League on your side," Green Lantern pointed out. "No offense but the Outsiders are strictly junior varsity."
"Yeah, don't sweat it Batman. We've got your back," Black Canary said.
"And I am honored to have been chosen to be by your side," Mr. Unknown said.
"I'm not sure why you wanted me here with all these costumes," Aaron Cash said, "but I'll do what I can."
"Your knowledge of Arkham's going to be indispensible," Batman said. "Now let's move out."
I realize that I don't understand the utility belt stuff. Just reread it and I think I get most of it but there are holes that make no sense. How about I change the 10 points into a batarang?

"There are several Justice Leaguers with Batman," Roy Raymond says, "Plus some others."
"That's very specific," says Halo, jokingly.
"He just can't make them all out," says Black Lightning.
"That's ok," Geo-Force says, "I'm shake them out and get them here."
"I do not believe you ally yourself with these people, Batman. Were the Justice Leaque preoccupied?" Talia asks.
"We are a bit out of practice," admits Katana pointing at Calendar Man, "But what's the excuse with him?".
"He has his ...uses," Batman says.
"It's the 12th of December," Calendar Man says, "The anniversary of the day the Joker and his men robbed all three of the Gotham branches of GHC bank. It's a perfect day for a caper."

So many traits and sps that are new and unusual to read, this game might take more time.
So with Calendar Man, his traits are specific to days etc. I suggest that when it says 'when the turn begins on...' it should apply to that day. So for example today is Friday the 14th, and winter, for today he can use sps that apply to that. Tomorrow it will be Sat the 15th....I suppose we were probably already clear on this.
Calendar Man rolls for his Celebrating Holidays sp. Gets a 5, so Canary takes a token and a click.
Geo-Force carts Roy to d19, he's c19.
Katana to G17.
Batman perplexes Katana's dv by 1.

"Hello there, pretty bird," Calendar Man says throwing a stone at Black Canary, "When cold winters melt into springs/these are a few of my favorite things."
"A rock? You threw a rock at me? And it hurt," Black Canary complains.
"How did he see Canary? She's a good as hiding in plain sight as you are," Geo-Force asks.
"Even hidden in stealth the Black Canary isn't free from the Calendar Man, who sees things differently, in terms of days, time and season," Batman notes.
"You have the oddest rogues gallery of all," Katana notes.
I don't know Calendar Man at all. I am, however, having fun 'reinventing' him into my imagination. He's the oddball pick on my team and yet, somehow, he fascinates me so pardon my exploration of him.
Let's stop for a moment, and make sure we're on the same page of the calendar. (Insert rim shot here)
With Calendar Man, it's not when the turn begins, it's always when the game begins. So you don't need to worry about his powers being inconsistent during the game, but each time you play him, he'll be different. I say we should count the day the thread was started for that.
If you agree, we started the 10th, which is even numbered: Give Calendar Man a power action; halve the speed value and range value of a target opposing character until the beginning of your next turn.
The Tenth was a Monday, so: Calendar Man can use Outwit; when he counters an ability he counteres that ability on all opposing characters.
And it's still Fall by the calendar so: Calendar Man can use Probability Control. Give Calendar Man a power action and roll a d6. On a result of 5-6, deal 1 penetrating damage to an opposing character within 10 squares and adjacent to or holding an object.
Which means Canary still takes a click from it, just not a token with it.
When we bring him into one of our replacement games, I'd say we should count from the day he's brought in, rather than the start of the whole game, which could have been months prior. What say you?
Well, I'm open to doing whatever but I think, it's easiest to reconsider the words from when 'game' begins to when 'turn' begins. Otherwise each of the sps would harken back to the original month, date, season etc. and I think that's a lot of work to remember. I suppose we could attach that information next to the character in the recap. I think the flexibility of changing days etc makes him more playable, myself, although I doubt we'll ever see him much either way.
