The Superior Spider-Man is Doc Ock, who had his memories tampered with, and vowed to be a Superior Spider-Man. While it's implied Peter Parker in Doc Ock's body dies at the end.
There's still some lingering plotlines that can revert this back to status quo. But it's definitely something drastic for the foreseeable future.
What's everyone's thoughts on these spoilers?
Edit: Coincidentally this is my 3000th post here...

I run HeroClix tournaments at Shuffle and Cut in La Habra, California. The format of each tournament will be posted here.
Sadly, we all know that Peter will be back in some form in what....anyone want to bet.... a calendar year?
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Gutsy, yeah, but it also gives Parker the shortest stick he's ever gotten by turning Doc Ock into the ultimate Identity Thief. Worse, unless/until Pete gets back the life that was stolen from him, it means that Octavius gets away with it scott free. Which is not the end that Peter Parker deserves after all his years as Spider-Man (the mistakes of OMD/BND aside).
Which leads me to suspect that Ock himself may be the one who fixes the problem - if he truly has Petes life now, the guilt from what he's done is going to gnaw away at him until he can't take it anymore and the only way to fix it is to undo it somehow.

Gotta agree... and it just reinforces my attitude towards comics these days. I.e. glad I don't spend the money.

So, is no one here bringing up the fact that with Doc Ock parading around as Peter means that every time he's with MJ, it's basically sex by deception, which is classified as sexual assault?
....yeah....I don't think I'm going to read Spider-Man anymore.

Proud to be Straight Edge
In the time it takes you to read this, I'm hitting on your sister. If she doesn't take the bait, I've got your mom on hold.
But I may be part of the problem; I haven't bought more than two issues* of any Spider-Man title since One More Day.
* Literally, there was a 2-issue crossover with Avengers Academy and Spider-Man.
God is smarter than we are....
Visit Heroclixin'! Or check out my trade thread. Molly Hayes' KO list: HoT Ultron, HoT Thor, SI Iron Man, AV Wonder Man, SI Sentry, LE Diana Prince, R IC Ultron, Pretty Boy, CW Kang, IIM Thunderball, TW Catwoman, OP Red Hulk.

The only issues of Spider-Man I've bought recently was the Spider-Man/Ultimate Spider-Man crossover.
Which is especially odd since I've refrained from either since I declared myself done with Bendis after how much I hated the way he killed off Ultimate Parker.
My best guess is that it was some kind of S+S=NS scenario.*
(*Stinky thing + Stinky thing = Not stinky, for those of you familiar with The Angry Beavers)

I'm slowly moving away myself. The only Marvel title I'm getting ATM is "Avengers Arena," and I promised myself no new series (which I'm breaking with Keith Giffen's Threshold, since it's freaking Keith Giffen writing space stories), so it ultimately leaves 8 DC titles going into the new year as well along with DnA's Hyperbaturals.
And it will be 7 DC's after February with Morrison leaving Action Comics. Animal Man/Swamp Thing may follow suit post-Rotworld.
As for Spider-man 700, it's a good move that will boost sales for the new series. It's not a popular or easy move, but it's an interesting one considering the new Superior series. I'd be stoked if I were following the Spider-man series, but that boat sailed with OMD.
At least Doc Ock won't remember organic web shooters.
