Nope, no banned teams. Perhaps you and your opponent need to have a conversation before the match starts to see what you both expect... power team or 'fun' team.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.

I agree with Hair, as is per usual. When I get time to actually play, I try to talk to players to see what they want to play. If they want to play competitively, then let's play. If they want to play for fun and joke around, I am definitely all for that too.
I just beat that team using:
Howling Commando (perplex/WP/Stlth) 40pts.
Captain America 89 pts.
Domino 69 pts.
Lady Blackhawk 55 pts.
Red Guardian 47pts.
First took Flash apart, I did get lucky and hit Superman with HC B/C/F and pc'd it and rolled 5 damage!
My second time facing that exact same team. I was playing cheese but I pulled a chase!!online
Sin
Red Skull chase
Hydra Tech(x2)
Won that time too.
What is so great about it?
I beat this team yesterday with Hela, Valkyrie and Gharskygt but have to admit i sighed when i saw i was having to face it. Ill try and explain what i dislike about this team
1) Superman is good for the points. Auto breakaway charge with 18DV and impervious is annoying but this piece isnt the one i have a problem with.
2) Oracle is one of those cheap pieces i cant stand. The free move she gives superman to carry flash can throw your opponent off but 50 points for perplex and outwit annoys me. (i think a 50 pt figure shouldnt be able to outwit Fin Fang Foom and a rules change is needed to outwit but thats another story)
3) Flash is the worst piece. He not only has HSS, Perplex and Outwit but he has WOS Spideys trait which makes him broken cheese.
Played in the right hands this team is too good and you should ask your opponent before you enter a game if he wants casual or competetive because some players might just bail at the map select screen. I myself bailed against a guy today who had 175pt Quasar, 75pt Scarlet Witch and 50pt Wasp. My Hand themed team would have no chance against his HSS, +3 perplexed, P controlled Quasar.

I hear the same complaints at my venue. "Outwit is overpowered...". Its sad that players hate outwit when their thor's impervious was stripped away and he had to take 5damage, but what's even sadder is those same players don't tend to complain when THEIR using outwit against you! Hypocrisy.
Here are the facts.....if you do not enjoy being outwitted, congratulations their is a plethora of options for you. Power cosmic being the obvious choice. Preparing to face outwitter, you can have an outwitter on hand ready to strip powers. Don't like using outwit yourself? Use your outwitter to outwit your opponents outwit! Thus canceling the standard power all together for that match. Heck there are figures that laugh at outwit. Just get a rip hunter and make sure your team is always adjacent to him. Bada bing bada boom.....none of your teams powers can be outwitted. It makes one wonder....if there are that many counter measures to outwit......why do players still protest against it?
If you plan on using a team like that, or something else ridiculous like phoenix, or a bunch of the untargetable batmans, you should say something beforehand.
Ill be sure to tell everyone at my venue what i`m playing before the tourney.......
Ill be sure at Friday Night Magic to ask my oponent to let me look at his deck first...
Ill be sure to tell everyone what gear my toons wearing in WoW....
I think that if your gunna complain about going agianst random teams and running into stuff your team cant beat, stop playing, or talk to them before hand and find out if you need to step your game up..

I'm pretty sure they are talking about fun pick-up games not tournaments. I also think they are talking about communicating just to establish the type of game, not exact teams. Something like "I'm running a cutthroat team" or " I'm running a non-competitve team" or "Let's do a comic accurate team". In the online version, this kind of communication makes the game much more fun for both players.
Eh.....I think its silly to expect your opponent to 'tell you or announce' their team before hand. Just so your opponents can build a counter team? That's not how this game is suppose to work. I for one actually enjoy being surprised, even if im playing as the winter guard and my opponent pulls out sentroid and Sharon carter. Would I rather use earthman, darkseid and some stealth busters at that moment? Sure....but im using winter guard. I know that they will be decimated, but its also fun to see how they fare against such odds. Who knows? Sometimes "fun" teams surprise everyone when they hinder the powerhouse everyone hates. Fun or tournaments .....once you reveal your force......you should stick with that force. Scared something might surprise you? Prepare for it before hand. Have a couple of different abilities on hand and several wildcards just in case you need more of that ability.

This guy got it right. It's not about announcing your exact team, it's about making sure you're going into the match with the same mindset as your opponent so that everyone has a good time. (This applies to casual matches only).
If you want to try out your fun Skrull theme team, and you face someone running Phoenix and Scarlet Witch, nobody has fun.
