So, we've had a couple of months to let this revamp of most of Marvel's titles soak in, and I was wondering what all of your impressions and predictions are of the new books. Here's what I thought about the series' that I've picked up:
Uncanny Avengers:
My best guess is that this is the book that's going to focus on the fallout from AvX the most, at least, from the Avenger's perspective. I don't know Havok enough to understand if Cap made a good choice in that regard, but they needed a leading character to draw in more 'x-vengers'. The darn thing keeps getting delayed, which sucks, but I do like it. Red Skull is making it worth the time to sit through all of the Rogue/Scarlet Witch whining.
A + X:
I LOVE this concept. Honestly, I've only been in comics for slightly over a year, but this short stories bit is really great to break up some of the more long winded plot-heavy stuff you sometimes have to wade through. Don't think they really need to force it to be an Avenger and an X-man, though (Do we get one where it's just Wolverine?). I will say that Rogue/Black Widow kiss was dumb.
Captain America:
I'm a biased Cap and Remender fan, so this is highly opinionated. I like this story a lot more than anything the previous series had to offer. It's hard to explain, but taking America away from Captain America (and handing him to Remender) feels like a great move to flesh out his character.
Deadpool:
"Ermagerd!! What if we took away Deadpool's healing factor for an arc and made him sort of worry about being mortal but not really?!" = Dumb(bad)
"Ermagerd!! What if Deadpool fought super-powered lich versions of all of the dead presidents guided by the spirit of Benjamin Franklin?" = Dumb(good)
I don't want to take my Deadpool serious (especially if you half-### it). You can do that when he's teamed up with other people if you wish. Deadpool is where I can relax and not give a crap. Me Gusta the new story and direction. Do we get a new Deadpool Clix with the S.H.I.E.L.D. keyword?
Indestructible Hulk:
Never read a Hulk issue before this. I'm subscribing now. I really hope they keep this "Hulk, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." thing going as long as possible. The fact that Banner has accepted the Hulk as permanence can be BIG if played right. The new story direction and potential is keeping me hooked. I also nod at the acceptable explanation for the 'Hulk Armor' we saw in the promo art.
Iron Man:
Not much to say, I'm teetering on whether on not to keep this. I dig the new colors (never was a fan of Red and Yellow), and really wished the whole 'Iron Man in a tournament against the Knights of the Round Table' was the main story, not just one issue.
Thor God of Thunder:
Story and Art are glorious. Easily my favorite of the 'Big Three'. I can also see it not being for everyone, though. Give it a try if you haven't already.
Avengers:
We have two issues of build-up so far. I'm willing to wait since the 'big idea' of this series intrigues me. I could fall on it's face, though, if all of this waiting doesn't pay-off big. The art is meh for my tastes and I'm back to being confused as to how Captain Marvel's hair works.
New Avengers:
Looks like an Illuminati book. I feel like this first issue said a lot without actually telling us anything. I'm also not a fan of killing minor named characters for no reason. I personally would need a darn good reason to keep reading after issue 2.
Avengers Arena:
I'm hoping and praying there's more too this than a Lord of the Flies/Hunger Games/Battle Royale tribute. I've got my own theories as to what's going on, and will probably follow this to the end because I was such an Avengers Academy fan. These character-focused issues aren't half bad, actually.
Cable and the X-Force:
I don't know what this book is doing. Like, story-wise. I've read two books and honestly couldn't tell you why Cable is forming a team, or why they're killing innocent people (I guess that second part is going to be explained in #3).
Thunderbolts:
I'm stuck since I really like Agent Venom and Deadpool. I feel a lot can be made from all of these personalities being in the same room, but not much has come of it. Hate hate HATE the art and there's a lot less killing than what I was expecting, too. I have a feeling it might pick up in tempo and enjoyment, though, so I'm sticking with it.
Avengers Assemble (kinda counts):
Skip the Bendis stuff. This new arc is sort of 'back-to-basics' Avengers stuff and has a lot more funny moments than I was expecting.
Red She-Hulk (also kinda counts):
I don't know why they didn't bother with starting her out at #1. I liked Betty for the Defenders and though this would be more of the same. Her character is fairly well-written, but I find myself just not caring about the plot. I'm really pissed she lost her big-### sword, but I like that she finally went 'full hulk', as weird as that looked.
Alright, the series' I didn't mention I either haven't gotten, or formed a decent opinion on. Now it's your turn.
I can't believe one person reads this many titles. Of course, a year ago, I was doing the same with nu52, and now I read about 8 DC titles, Avengers Arena, and Hypernaturals.
Thanks for the quick reviews on what I'm not reading, and it's good to know I'm not the only one reading Avengers Arena. It's fun to explore new and underdeveloped characters.
My comic budget's not what it was a year ago, but I wouldn't want it to be either. If I did, though, I would follow a Hickman Avengers title or Remender title. Bendis tainted me on regular Avengers, and now he's looking to do so with X-men and Guardians of the Galaxy, so there's almost nothing left for me to enjoy in the Marvel universe.

How's Hypernaturals? I was interested at first, but the first issue felt like it was throwing exposition nonstop until I felt too separated from the story.
My monthly Marvel Titles are: Ultimate Spider-Man, FF, and F4. I topped reading USM myself: I lost interest after Ultimatum, but my son likes Miles so that is "his" book now.
FF is the book that I chose to replace Defenders, and it got me hooked on F4 for now. I'm a fan of all the creators, they have been delivering a decent comic so far. By all accounts, the book we all should be reading is Hawkeye!
Captain America - quite a divergence from the usual Cap fare. I'm digging it very much, though and am very eager to see where its going.
New Avengers - hmmmm.....it just got started. I'm interested and hanging on for now.
Thunderbolts - NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! These are "Thunderbolts" because Thunderbolt Ross assembled them. (Lame!) NOT because they are "reformed" criminals playing the hero schtick for a change. No, no, no! This is all wrong. And the art is poop on a platter served cold and moldy. After issue 3, I quit!
Thor God of Thunder - A+++ Best book on the market today. The art is gorgeous and the storyline is unlike any Thor story ever told but it is still very much a "Thor" story. Love, love, love this book!
May all your hits be crits!

It's gotten better. It's an epic scope, so the exposition is still there. It reminds me a lot of Keith Giffen 5YL Legion in terms of the scope of the story. 6-7 issues in and they're still building the characters, but these characters are original, and we're getting the back stories to figure out the cosmic homicidal mystery.
After their runs on Legion and Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm willing to support Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning on a cosmic title. The latest issue gave the background on their (now former) arch-enemy, who built the Quantinuum that's used for instant space travel in the Hypernaturals universe.

Yeah, this is just my Marvel NOW pulls that I've formed some kind of opinion on. I'm blessed with a budget that lets me try everything new that comes out, but that mean I can blow $200+ a month on comics (including my regular pulls), that's a little uncomfortable for my tastes, but it can be considered an 'investment', I guess.

How are FF and F4? I got the first issue of IF and didn't like the feel of it. Was afraid that FF would be similar (also didn't like the Point One preview).

Didn't get a chance to enjoy the old thunderbolts, so I literally have no opinion over the naming discrepancy. I might be a little jaded over New Avengers since I really liked the previous team, especially Luke Cage.
Well, of the new-ish titles sporting the logo, so far:
Indestructible Hulk: Fantastic. I loved Pak's run, but Waid appears to be on pace to be at least as good.
Thunderbolts: I gave it a few issues, but there's really nothing holding my interest there (despite two of my favs, Deadpool and Venom, being on the roster). I'll be dropping it from my pull list.
Avengers: Interesting so far, so I'll stick with it for now.
Uncanny Avengers: I'm liking Red Skull here, nice choice for a villain. Also, the friction caused by Wanda's presence on the team is fertile ground for some great story-telling. Remender ftw!
New Avengers: The first issue didn't really "hook" me, but I'll give it a few more issues to pull it off.
Morbius: I liked the first issue, but then again I'm a Marvel Monsters homer, so take that as you will.
Avengers Arena: Hopeless isn't a talented enough writer to pull this off. Fast-tracked character development, cheap shock deaths, inexplicable Mary Sues, worn-out horror tropes, and some fairly severe ooc moments made me drop it after issue two (can't fault the art though).
Deadpool: This is the best Deadpool has been in a loooong time. Awesome read!
Other titles like Wolverine, Wolverine & the X-Men, Captain Marvel, Venom, and Scarlet Spider I'm sticking with since they continue to be good reads through the transition.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I'm only reading Uncanny Avengers as all my other books were either cancelled or had writer changes that I either don't care about (Deadpool) or detest (FF and Fantastic Four)
Uncanny Avengers is a little weird so far, but if they can get the books out on time like they should I can imagine it flowing back into a good story once again.

Not going to convince you to spend money, but I hope you flip through FF and check out the Allred art for as long as it lasts.
I understand not liking Fraction as he's one of the most hit/miss writers at Marvel right now, but Allred... the guy draws so well.
Also, if you ever want to read something Fraction that's not crap, read Hawkeye. If you buy an issue and don't like it, I'll buy it from you.

I was getting all of the new Venom series and was following it until the last few, haven't had the desire to read them, if they are switching him to Marvel Now, it's probably time for me to get out of comics again. It was the only one I was reading.
I have to vehemently agree with the Thor love. God of Thunder is clearly the best comic sporting the Marvel NOW designation.
Overall, I think the quality of Marvel NOW, as a group, is excellent, and that so far, Thor God of Thunder is the best of the best.
Thirded on Thor. It has me itching for an epic Thor beat down for the ages to wrap this arc up. A good, lightning blasting, hammering smashing 'you picked the wrong 'god' to mess with today' punk slobber knocker.
I can say I don't want Thor to luck into the win, or get someone's special help. I want Thor to bust his face in, have the god butcher give some stupid spiel about why he's such a psycho, and have Thor give him a confused look like 'why should I care' and endth yon villain's skein of life forthwith. He can be battered and bloody, but I want to see Mjolnir crush the god butcher's head like a grape in the end.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
How are FF and F4? I got the first issue of IF and didn't like the feel of it. Was afraid that FF would be similar (also didn't like the Point One preview).
I bought into FF for Allred, and I started F4 because of the crossover. As I wrote, I was looking for a fun/oddball teamup book to replace Defenders, and it looks like I got it in FF.
I'm not a great person to ask for monthly comic recommendations:
1) So much is written for/collected in TPBs, that I prefer to just pickup the stuff that is highly recommended later. I missed the entire previous fun of F4 and FF, and I'm essentially just waiting for a massive collection to buy. Stuff that doesn't get high recommendations I will read through the library.
2) I try to avoid books that are prone to company-wide crossovers. with Marvel, I am hoping that F4 (out of the universe) and FF (weird enough) will fill that niche for me.
