“Holy s***,” I said to myself as I got my first look at Trigon the Terrible.
“Time to get out of here” Blake reminded me. We high tailed it out of there as fast as we could. If any of the guards followed us outside, they stopped to stare at the demon king because no shots were fired. We ducked into a nearby alley and propped Kelly up on the opposite side of a dumpster. I tossed his mask and shoes in and ripped his shirt. Not a perfect homeless guy disguise but he was out cold and I wasn’t going to lug his a** around anymore.
Blake crouched down and leapt up to the nearest fire escape. He reached his arm down and pulled me up. We hit the roof just in time to hear the call from Waller. “Vig, I need a status report.” So I was Vigilante again. That was fine by me. Vigilante doesn’t get grilled for Deadshot’s failed missions.
“Puma and I are on site near S.T.A.R. Labs,” I answered. “I’m looking right at Satan’s mean older brother. Tell me you don’t want us to engage that thing.”
“Atom will engage big red. I have different mission for you two.”
“Shoot.”
“Seems the big guy came in through a portal and that portal is still open. The streets are filling with hellspawn. Our main force is trying to make a push for the portal but they're tied up fighting all of those…things coming out of it. I need you to hit them hard from the flank. Take out their AA so we can drop specialists in and close the portal.”
“Sounds easy enough,” I said.
“Then don’t screw it up! And for God’s sake, don’t forget your uniforms. Waller out.”
Of course, by that she meant “I don’t want to see Deadshot and Catman at all.” I took off my mask and shirt. Blake did the same, revealing three scars down the middle of his muscular chest, each a half foot long.
“Who gave you those?” I asked.
He ran his fingertips over them. “My brother.”
“That kind of family, huh?”
“Not the way you’re thinking.”
I made a makeshift bandana by tearing off a piece of Blake’s cape and reassembled my wrist guns into normal pistols. Blake took a pair of brass knuckles from his utility belt. Each had a trio of curved, three inch blades on it. In just a few quick steps, we may not have looked like heroes but we sure didn’t look like villains anymore.
“Ready?”
“Let the hunt begin.”
The HDC (6 actions)
Bane 60
Killer Frost 32
HDC Trooper 15 x 13
288
BFC: Wasteland (Walls are down. Squares adjacent to walls and elevated terrain are hindering terrain instead.)
The checkerboard kitchen floor in the middle map is the portal to Hell and is considered blocking terrain. The HDC wins the game by either placing at least three HDC Troopers adjacent to the portal for two full turns to complete the ritual to close it (if less than three Troopers are adjacent due to movement or being koed, you must start over the two turn process) or by having Deadshot take a double power action to make a ranged combat attack against any portal square.
Deadshot and Catman set up on the left side of the left map with the portal guard setting up on the right side of the left map. Bane and the rest of the HDC’s forces set up on the far right with Trigon’s horde setting up on the left side of the same map. All forces may enter the middle map but forces starting on the left map may not enter the right map and vice versa.
Due to the large number of low point figures on both sides, the HDC may be given 6 actions each turn and an additional action for Deadshot and Catman. The demon horde gets 6 actions per turn and another action for the portal guard.
Well this is gonna take a while lol. Jack, I'm guessing that I'm playing the part of Trigon's army and Portal guard?
