So if he has one token does Brother Voodoo get the attack bonus before MCing? or do the bonuses only happen when MC is used? And if it is the latter, then does he get the bonus during the MC attempt or only after?

I would imagine the "Intent" of this power was to give him a +1 to his Mind Control Attack and then make the target of the Mind Control stronger.

The Wording on the power does stink

"He takes no damage from this use of Mind Control, and when he uses Mind Control, he and his target modify their attack values by +1 this turn."

All they needed to do was add the bolded part.

I think this is a case of prerequisites and results. If the prerequisite is met (having exactly one token), then the immediate results are:

1. Using mind control as a free action
2. Taking no damage from this use of mind control
3. +1 to his attack
4. +1 to the attack of the target of mind control

They are four separate befits from having exactly one token, you you do get the +1 for the mind-control. The bolded part was all that was needed.

"All they needed to do was _______________________"

Thanks for the response. Just to clarify, because I usually need things spelled out for me: if BV has one token, and his only target has Battle Fury, BV still gets the +1 to attack even though he is not MCing?

I would say no. In order to use mind control you have to have a target. A character with battle fury cannot be targeted with mind control.

I would argue that you get the bonus when you use the mind control not just by having one token. Yes, it could be interpreted either way, but considering the part about the +1 involves him and his target of mind control I assume they intended for it to be when you actually used the mind control. Also note, though, that the +1 attack lasts until end of turn, so if you use him to MC with one token, then push to shoot, he still has the +1 attack.

Are we gonna have another Voodoo argument?

The plus one seems pretty well coupled with "he and his target of MIND CONTROL."

I dont see how you can get the +1 without having a Mind Control Target from using Mind Control.

Furthermore, since the sentence is coupled with the no feed back from MC I dont see how the rest of the sentence (+1) would not apply when using the MC to begin with.
