Just started playing HCO today. Picked up a few figures to play with. Got my ### handed to me in 3 different games. The first game it never loaded the dials so I could see who had what power/etc. Second and third game ended up with just bad positioning on my part because half the time I can't see exactly where my figure is going to move to.
Are these just bugs that you learn to get around or am I just having really bad luck? I'm not saying that if I hadn't had a hard time with the interface I would have won the games but it definitely kicks up the difficulty level when you're also fighting the interface.
Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

The game is still a bit buggy sometimes.
You can change the camera pov by pressing c you can do e-n-w-s en top down vieuw.
Change your view to top down. While it's fun to see the side views, top down is really the only way to play.
From what you've described, it doesn't sound buggy (although that can be a problem); it sounds more like you just need to familiarize yourself more with the interface. It really is a weird interface and isn't always intuitive because of the different steps involved to get a power to work how you want. When I first started, I would run the clock out a lot as I tried to get the figs to do what I wanted them to do.
i've figured out how to change the setting around for the map. I keep having games where the game loads but there is no map and stuff. Whats the fix for this?

Ya I finally got it to work about 2/3's of the time.
I was just about to win my first game after losing my first 4. Stratoviper raged quit. The game was going for about 90 minutes and he just aborted when he was about to lose. Pretty lame. Is there a lot of ragequitters out there?

Rage quitting is wide spread on HCO. It is trial and error on discovering who is a rage quitter and then keeping a list and never playing that person again. I have found a direct correlation between those who play broken teams and those who rage quit. Those who try to maximize their winning potential are the ones who cant take losing.
The 2nd type of quitting is at the start of the game on map selection when you see your opponents team. I admit i am guilty of this when i see an opponent playing a very cheesy team after i have stated i want a casual match. This wastes 20 seconds of your opponents life so i think it is acceptable.
I'd say at least 50% if not more of my games are bugged from the start. There is nothing that I can do to make it so that I can see the dials or have the map load? No settings to change or anything? My computer is definitely no slouch by any means.

Ive been playing for over a year now and have to say its not buggy. I would suggest thats it is your computer, especially if you are using a laptop as i have no such problems.
If you're running full screen, try running it in a window. Turn down the graphic settings as well and see if that helps.
This is huge. This fixed a lot of the problems I had. HCO is a resource hog, so anything you can do to reduce that helps.
As for avoiding rage quitters, add people to your friends list when you get a good game and add people to your ignore list when you have a bad game. I've found that this makes a big difference when looking for that casual game.
