I remember when i played clix back in about 2003 my venue said that you pushed on 3 action tokens and you could running shot and then go back to the square you started your movement from. I stopped playing for a long time before i got back into it last summer, and I was just wondering if that wa a mistake or those were ac tually the rules. Thanks!

Sounds like a house rule rather than a mistake. Outside of some colossal characters and the Masters of Evil, no characters can take a nonfree action with 2 tokens or be assigned three.

And back then, not even the Masters of Evil could do that. They used to have the same TA as the Injustice League:
INJUSTICE LEAGUE
Whenever a character using the Injustice League team ability attacks an opposing character that was attacked by another character using the Injustice League team ability this turn, the action does not count toward your available actions for the turn.
Worded a little differently, of course, due to shifts and refinements in terminology over time.
There was a small portion of time when you could get 3 Action Tokens on a Sentinel...most people didnt bother placing the 3rd token, but there wasnt actually a rule preventing more than 2 tokens way way back then....Just a rule preventing taking a non-pass action on 3 consecutive turns which the Sentinels did not have to follow.
