I have a game coming up with the following rules:
Golden age, no feats or battlefields conditions
Marvel only
400 pts total, 200 must come from the new Spiderman set.

So I'm a theme junkie, and my initial team is almost a theme. I've always liked Jennifer Kale, so I wanted to use her. And since I just acquired Man-thing I figured they'd make a good team.

Now there is no rule that it must be a theme, but if I want to make it one I could drop Man-Thing to his 100pt version and put the 50pt Scarlet Witch from the Chaos War FF pack in. Now I have 6 characters which is enough for a theme team.

my thoughts are that man-thing would carry Elsa and Dr. Strange. Elsa is the main attacker, Dr. strange gives Man-thing a defense boost. Jennifer can come in handy with the right placement on the map and I figured I'd use the outwit/prob version of Madame Web. Maybe it's a team full of too much support and not enough attackers, not really sure.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I have lots of clixs at my disposal so i'm pretty open to anyones ideas. From the ASM set I dont have Baron Mordo, Ghost Rider. the man-thing duo or Blackheart. Thanks!!

I've never made a Mystics team without Scarlet Witch, and or Enchantress. Also, I think a team with stealth(Batman Family etc) at 400points could really give you a lot of trouble.

except it's a Marvel only game so that means no Enchantress and no Batman team ability.

And I do have a way to use Scarlet Witch, just wasnt sure if it's worth dropping Man-thing to the 100 pt version for the 50pt Scarlet Witch, or keep Man-thing at 150 and drop the 75pt Dr strange for the 75pt Scarlet Witch.

Ah...I missed that. Well replace Batman Family with X-Force, or Avengers with Sharon Carter. Well if you swap D strange with her you have a TK obv. The added 8 TK would allow man thing to get dropped onto a target, attack, and then force them to break away. If he's only carried he will have to wait to attack. This would help deal with Stealth.

Honestly I started replying like 3 times and decided I got nothing. I mean, to make Theme you could drop Madame Web for an Astral Strange and Vampire Lackey. So... I dunno. Looking at it I wonder if Strange is a waste as Man-Thing will be in close, and Kale already has ESD. Yeah, I guess if you asked a more specific question like "What would you play, 400 Marvel, 200 from ASM, Mystical theme" or something like that maybe I could be more helpful.

Team needs more Brother Voodoo. That guy is CRAZY good.

Switching out Elsa for the new common Blade would be another option, though both pieces are great.

And if you want to make theme, go for it. Don't worry about switching out, say Dr. Strange for 50 pt. Witch and Astral. With Kale on your team and Special Terrain that grants PC, any little peon like an Astral or Vampire Lackey now has a great support role.

And Cowbell. Definitely some more cowbell.
