I made this one easy. Listened to the songs again, and everyone of them is exactly where I thought I'd put it before listening. Although two and three could have flip-flopped.

1. Rolling Stones – I’ve always been a big fan of early Stones songs. This is on my iPod but I wish it were on my London Years CD collection. Not as great as Little Red Rooster, but this is top notch.
   
2. Jon Allen - A coming of age song for 20 somethings. I love this Brit troubadour. Been a fan of his for a few years now.
   
3. Neil Young- Oh Neil you are dispassionate. Love the grunge feel of this.
   
4. Barry Cowsill – Power Pop from one of the original Princes of Pop music. It’s what I was expecting. Not great, but certainly not horrible.
   
5. Delta Highway – GO HOME ALREADY!

Wow, first time I remember having a complete opposite opinion from VG9 on a song. I loved the DH tune, it's bouncy, the vocals are strong, and the guitar solo rips.

Following VG9's lead on posting (loosely) my original comments. Looks like all 3 of us so far are all over the place in our votes. Guess that's why we get to have contests!! And why not all good restaurants have the same menu.

1- Delta Highway - winner of the fifth match- Yes! One of the best versions in the whole contest. Makes you want to get up and move. Rock, blues, real, from my home town.
2- Neil Young - winner of the second round- Neil Young writes great songs, and I'm assuming he wrote this one. With a few notable exceptions, I often wish someone else were actually singing them. Not because he does a bad job, but because I think someone else could really make them shine. But the guitar work here is hard to deny. I like it!
3- Jon Allen - winner of the fourth match- This is what a song called Going Home should sound like. Sweetly sad, subdued, anticipatory. Very nice.
4- Barry Cowsill - winner of the first match- Lots of fun!
5- The Rolling Stones - winner of the third match- I don't really like it. Just doesn't rev up and do much.

I doubt we'll get any more participation. Soxolas has been too ill and several others seem to have abandoned participating.

1) Neil Young - I'm a huge mark for Neil. He's still churning out amazing music. I heard he's open to a Buffalo Springfield reunion.

2) Delta Highway - This song is killer jam. Loved every minute of it.

3) Jon Allen - Hadn't heard of him before this, pleasant surprise.

4) Barry Cowsill - Never expected a song this fun from a guy who helped inspire the Partridge Family.

5) The Rolling Stones - good song but not what I usually look for when I think of the Stones.

I imagine Gargantua is the only one left to hear from that still cares about participating.

Don't know if I'll do any more. They're taking too long for responses.

Jon Allen - Others have brought out this song's good points already. Suffice to say I fully agree. Gorgeous song.

Delta Blues - Terrific bluesy jam

Barry Cowsill - Enjoyable. Nothing really special, but I had fun listening to it, and sometimes that's all you need.

Neil Young - Musically cool, but I've never been thrilled by his singing voice.

Rolling Stones - Not their worst, but didn't excite me much.

I would have put Rocky Horror at number one, but that wouldn't have been enough to put Tim Curry at the top of his bracket.

I've got a lot more I could do of these but there seems to be too much lack of interest to make it worthwhile.

It has been fun throwing them together and discovering musicians I wouldn't hear otherwise. It's especially fun finding those odd acts that half of you love but drives others up the wall. (Mark Gormley anyone?)

Oh well, I'll find something else to do. Anybody else who wants to try it is welcome.

Thanks for all the effort, sincerely!! These have been great fun and educational. My iPod is now filled with lots of these songs, and yes, even some of the ones everyone else hated!! But there are some of the winners also. Maybe everyone will take a break, and then we will have to come back!! Hope so, anyway!
